Exclamation Site Currency?

I know alot of GOOD sites have site currency.........like CC(CardCash-sports card related site) , NP$ (Name Pro Dollars) and several others are examples from other sites.

This even have Exchange Forums and a Store to use this! I know you might say hey it promotes spam in some cases but the CC one , you dont even get CC for posting there and the NP$ 75 percent of the forums earning for posting is turned off!

So, I think this could work! It will give ppl another reason to keep coming back to this site for more! Who knows, maybe 2500 THF$ get you $25 at Partypoker in the "Store" here in the future or the Dealerbuttons soon to be offered away, There is Potential here!

Ideas for earning "THF$" away:

Joining site;
Referrals;
Staff weekly "paycheck";
"Good" Posts
Posting Rate
Contests

and list could go on!

Most of these site try to keep the Site Currency a Stable Market meaning it does have some monetary value.

Let me know your thoughts, thanks!

hey nebbie

yeah i have considered it in the past and i do think it is suitable for a site like this.

i have already applied a lot of changes and hacks to the site. The software company who wrote this forum software update frequently which means that by adding this hack ive got even more coding to do at each upgrade which can be very timeconsuming as it is - especially with me returning to work full time. There are a few other things ive been thinking of adding as well. Though there have been a lot of forums being hacked recently by spammers/hackers etc which means i want to keep the forum as up to date as i can - just now a forum upgrade would probably take me about 2 hours of coding, maybe a little more. Its not too bad but there has been several upgrades in the last month or so - which means 2 hours each time. It does add up.

Though it would be a great addition to the site and im gonna look into it more and see what aspects of the shop hack i could integrate here - I may add it in the next week or so when i get time however im not 100% sure yet.

thanks for the suggestion nebbie

ive been looking into this feature crash (formerly nebbie)

I dont think its worth me adding it.

For anyone who hasnt seen this before it works like this - people get points/forum-cash for posting, referring new members etc. They can use this cash to change their username, put their name in bold etc

i am not a big fan of the concept of people having to post a certain amount to get their username changed - it doesnt take too much time for me to change and as long as members arent taking the piss with it changing their username 2 or 3 times, then i have no problem in changing it.

I do believe in rewarding regular members.

However i do not need to add a cash point system to do this.

I can set up some private forums which you can only get access to if you have a set number of posts. From there the user can choose which gift/reward they want. I have been thinking about this for a while.

I dont want to give away shitty gifts - i want to partner with good poker related stores etc to give away poker sets, dealer buttons, playing cards etc - but i may also give the option of cash if someone wants that instead.

Now its important for me to get the balance of posts and the respective rewards correct as the cash for these gifts will obviously come from people signing up via the ads here which hasnt been great as of yet.

Now firstly, the monthly competition is where any revenue will go first. Then i will be putting a certain % into a regular tournament - it may take a few months to get that sorted (i emailed absolute poker and a few others they still havent replied). If i start making more money via ads i will then be looking into gifts/rewards for reaching certain posting levels. Plus obviously i want to take a % of earnings in the future when the site is doing well as ive spent a lot of time and money on the site (so far ive spent over $2,000 and i havent made anything as yet from the site - all referral commissions have came from my texas holdem tactics site. This will change though ).

I think that a regular tournament will increase commissions from the site if all those taken part who havent joined sign up here. But ill probably use most of if not all the revenue from the tournament site to put back into the freerolls to reward members.

The best way to work it would have to have frequent tournies but with some exclusively for regular and high posters - these tournies would have higher payouts (i think its important that regular members are rewarded and a lot of the cash doesnt go to a member who only signed up for the tourney!)

one thing you dont have to worry about is this place getting quiet or going dead - im a very hands on admin. I love poker, i love talking about poker and im doing everything i can to make sure this is the best place to talk about hold em

Good thing, fonz, just as good in my opinion! umm, you could check with jetsetpoker.com as well with hosting a private Freeroll, I mean I wanted one for my Football League and got it!
