MEGA CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY

here in rochester this tourney has popped up all over the city and has filled our local card rooms.

it's a 10 week tourney with every player paying and extra $5 on top of the buy-in with this money going into the championship prize pool.

the winner of each weeks tourney qualifys for the mega championship game which would have to be set up as a single table freeroll in week 11, with winner take all.

in the event of a duplicate winner, they have just shortened the feild in the championship game, so if you win one of the 10 weeks incentive to keep playing to better your odds in the big game

so if we could get 10 players per tourney x $5 x 10 weeks $500 to the winner of the mega championship game

what does everyone think. hard part might getting someone to run it

i could maybe get something like that setup at ps....we'd need to take $5 from a $11 buyin and the rest would go to the pot in the single table. The $5 would then go towards the pot of the big game.

This is a great idea River and I would be interested in playing in a THF version of this as soon as I deposit there. But before that I think this would be good for my home games, Thanks!

that sounds like a great idea - 1 question week 11 game is it a buy in or a freeroll?

It would be a single table freeroll consisting of the winners from games 1-10. The extra money placed aside from the previous games being the prizepool.

ok so someone can manually set up - 10 x $10+$1 then contact support for a restricted freeroll with prize pool of whatever $5 we get (if I am wrong in this let me know)

I am willing to be the leader that looks after this game get the $5 from everyone. (if at a suitable time GMT)

A few questions - What site would you like to play this at, what time and remember we need a site that uses transfer facility and a time that doesn't conflict with other THF games

i think poker stars would be our best bet seeing most of us have accounts there. to attract the most players saturday would prolly be best as early as possible so people like fonz and kaart and players from that part of the globe can play without it being 4:00 in the morning.

homeville, we are in week nine this week and changes are going to be made for the next 10 week session. it should be finalized at tonights game and i'll let you know. one good one here is the second saturday of every month. this one is a little different but the biggest here. this one is a 11 month tourney with the championship in december. this one you don't need to win, but attend 6 of the 11 months to qualify. this one almost always sells out at 320 players. $40 buy-in with $5 per player going to the championship game in december. also includes all the grub you can eat. last decembers championship game was $15k with 199 players that qualified. i'll get back to you later with the new format
