I was working in the test area of the forums last night and trying to add a few new features. Unfortunately, along the way the main database got deleted. Ive been using vbulletin for years and always test things out on a test forum before the main site so im totally stumped as to how this happened. Normally i back up my databases regularly though the last file i have is way back in september.
I assumed that my database was periodically backed up my the hosting company that runs my server. This doesnt seem to be the case - i am responsible for this and a small error on my part has made something minor turn into something major.
Im waiting for the hosting company to get back to me. They are looking into restoring the database - i havent heard anything else since last night but we're on different timezones so thats probably why they havent got back.
There is a possiblity that the old posts may be saved but until then, please post at this domain name.
Rest assured the site will be backed up on a regular basis as well as setting up my server to backup the site manually
once again, im sorry for any hassle
