Playing 7-card stud is a minefield. Just watching the number of idiots that chase a hand all the way to the 7th card and then fold in ring games is ridiculous. These guys live on the off chance of catching the one card that will win them the pot. These same guys will go to 4th street with rainbow straightless, often if there is only 1 ace to comfort them.

Constant raising is neccesary to profit from these guys. However when one of these same fools suddenly reraises you on 7th street, this is a sign to be cautious and call. Do not re-raise, he very well could have hit some miraculous shit unless you have extreme nuts. His two up aces make your king house not so. One bad loss from capping on the river can lose the money earned by several well-played hands.

We all know that his play was wrong. However idiots also think everyone else plays like them, and definately do not think it is important to have a strong hand before playing. He could have thought you were bluffing with nothing more than a pair of Qs and that any two pair would beat you.

Come on man. You should know that these are the idiots that pay you off in the long run.

Just shrug it off and rebuy, unless you're on tilt. (Which I would most likely be if I got sucked out on that badly) If he sucks that badly, you should be able to get your money back fairly easily.

So he had 22 to start with and at 6th street he makes A's up. Why would you think that he didn't think that he had the best hand? So he had to spike the 2 outer on the river. He had outs and they may have been really bad but I don't think that his play was out of this world bad. Well if he started with A2 in the hole then yes he really is a bad player. Stud is like limit for the most part, they will draw you just have to hope they don't get there.

That is a bad beat, but you have to remember that bad beats can happen in stud to. 25 dollars isnt the end of the world to stop playing stud. You should of kept on playing and take his money away from him if hes going to play like that. You can't just give up after a bad beat, I am sure that you have taken worse bad beat in holdem then in stud.

cengo, I'm glad you're posting, but some of these threads are as old as 2006! Please keep your posts to the more recent threads, as bringing up old ones does nothing but aggravate members.
