Default Stud 8/b tournament, How would you play this hand?

Player 1 is a super short stack that is all in by 'bringing in' (less then a full bet) I have a king up (pair of kings) and complete it. 1 caller (he has three low, maybe 2 suited) Player 1 had a 5 up.

4th street brings me a second spade (up), and him a second low up. He bets.

Three questions: Would you make that play if you were him? What would you do with kings here? Does it effect your decision (at any stage) that player 1 represents the bubble?

I could not go broke on the hand, but I could get crippled.

Working my way back......and remember I'm new at this dude but still liking it more and more......

Player 1) wouldn't bother me although you havn't said what he hit on 4th, however he cannot hurt my stack anymore than he might have already.

Player 2) Could have hit small pair or he is one of these 4 2 a low and likes to pot build in hope that he will hit the 5th and at least split.....your not really showing anything major there hadn't been any raises or pre-raises prior to this so he may fancy a bet....Although if this was me I tend to check until I do hit the low........!!!!

Your play ) I would raise him at least if you put him on the low your high is looking good, should he back raise just call see what 5th street brings you, now another spade makes you look good, you could make a nice 2 pair or hit your trips (no other king showing).....!!!

Why what happened dude...??

Thanks

Sonny

One correction, and it's a pretty serious difference, I did raise on third street.

I was not slow playing hardly at all this tournament, I think I did once. So if player 1 is paying attention, he has every reason in the world to think I have a pair of kings.

I'm going from memory since I could not get a hand history, but as I recall, I called him because I wanted him to eat up the low cars to be sure we scooped the pot and took out the bubble. He had other ideas though.

In retrospect I wonder if I should have raised with the kings. If I had known he would raise on 5th street, I think I would raise on 4th

Yes, when you are first to act you can bring in or "complete" meaning to put out a full small bet.

After that, the next to act can "call" the bring in, or raise it which is "completing" to a full small bet.

Adaon heres the deal in that situation you actualy looking at his str8t draw wich would then smash your pair. Understanable if you laid it down. Yet this guy knows hes making it look as if hes got the str8t. In 7stud thats big showing someone a hand more powerfull then you already have is a big key to taking down some large pots. Shit ill finish this later wifes parents are here.

Stud hi I think I would have suspected a straight, in hi/lo (low buy in) it's not uncommon for people to bet on a low, sometimes a low draw.

Regrettably I couldn't get a hand history for the exact cards he had, but if I recall correctly he did bet on a low draw (and continued to do so) then outdrew me to end up scooping.

It seems like my weakness came in not raising on 4th street, if he is willing to 3bet against kings, with the bubble all in, it's probably time to lay the hand down. I hate being a calling station, and I did it mainly because I wanted to take out the bubble.

But I guess I can't expect every player to understand the value in being sure you take out the bubble. Now that I think about it, it was a pretty silly assumption of me that it would be his goal to do so.

I say you bet and make him pay to see more cards and if you have a feeling he hit a low or a flush you check it to them and see what happens. If you check your giving them a chance to hit some free cards and you don't want to do that in any type of game so I would bet it.
