Starting Stud suited cards

Let's say I have 3 cards of a given suit to start out a hand of 7 card stud (Hi only). What's the maximum number of outs that should be shown on other players up cards that I should allow before I give up on the flush and fold before 4th street?

For instance, let's say I have KT8, all clubs. How many clubs need to show to force me to fold before 4th street (We're assuming a limp is possible here)?

I'm not well up on 7-stud really mainly play it in HORSE games so I'm interested in the replies too.
I tend to fold if i can see more than 2 of my suit. Suppose it depends how cheap it is to stay in. If there are a couple of raises to call and I don't have high cards I'd probably fold with 2 showing.

Checking up some theory from books, I read that a fold is correct in a 7 handed game if just 2 of your suit are showing.
