Default stud question

It's a 9 handed $3/$6 stud game. you hold (Ah 2h) 3h. Person directly to your left draws the 2 of spades and leads in with a full bet. Every person calls until it gets to you. Do you raise at this point? What factors should you consider in making this decision?

What are the other people holding. If you see a lot of hearts on the table then your flush draw diminishes. Same thing if you see some 4's and 5's. With this hand all you can hope for is a straight or a flush (or the straight flush) so the above information is critical. Is this table generally loose (if everyone is in it probably is)?

Is this a high/low game? If it is you should definitely call because you have a chance to hit both the high and low and you have good pot odds.

I should have been more clear. This is a Hi-Low game, and tell me if I'm wrong, but isn't A23h a very valuable starting hand in a Hi-Low stud? I am basically just wondering if I should raise here for value or just call to protect and hide my hand.

Since this is a high-low game you should definitely raise. This is a very good hand for high-low.

I raise too. If fourth street is either a low card, heart, or ace I raise again.

I have played stud since I was 6 years old, do not fold! Calling or making a raise works, ur correct that just calling can hide your hand giving you a chance get the pot driven up later in the hand when another player make a low hand, not as low as your hopefully. gl

Id call and see what 4th brings, unless my bank is big than I may raise to try to get 1 or 2 chasers to drop.Especially if my seat has been on a roll

According to David Skalansky, you should not. You only have a 20% chance of making your flush. Most likely, you will end up with a high pair.

The fact that is a high/low game changes everything. However, if you get a bad 4th card (9 of clubs), your chances of making your hand lower.
