i feel great about how i played...although i was probably the most inexperienced player in the tournament, i stuck to my gameplan which was to play mostly starting hands with strong LO possibilites (and flush draws and high pairs) and let the high hands come. i won something like 85% of the hands that i took to the river, so i did a good job of ensuring that i took at least a piece of the pot when i had significant chips committed. after the 2nd break or so i had a good amount of chips, and turned up the aggression. from this point forward, if i played a hand, i raised to build the pot and to narrow it down to only 1 or 2 other players (i dont know if this is the proper strategy for this game, but it seemed to work ok). anyway, this resulted in stealing alot of blinds and antes, as well as allowing me to take down a good amount of pots on 4th and 5th street. then, once we got to the money (top 16), players began to play pretty wrecklessly, and i probably knocked out half of the remaining players along the way. by the time it reached the last 3 or 4 of us on the final table, i had a significant chip lead, and played pretty much every hand until 5th street. i caught some nice hands, and took the victory (although i did give myself a little scare when it came down to heads up, since i had never played limit stud heads up before). anyway, after almost allowing the opponent to catch up to even with me, i hit 2 or 3 big hands and won the tourney.
anyway, thats the strategy i took throughout the tournament, i have to attribute catching some hands as part of the reason i won obvoiusly, but i think i played pretty solid. i would love to hear some critiques of how you feel i played
