Default WSOP 2005 Final Table Contest

Hey THF Gang,

Since the Heads Up Championship contest thread is dead, due to lake of research on my part that results were already available online. I wanted to replace it with a different fun contest, and get everyone involved. I know these results are not available online anywhere.

As you may know, the WSOP Championship has grown in popularity over the last few years and its expected that this years event will draw 6000. That makes a prize pool of $ 60,000,000, and 15,000,000 to the eventual winner.
There will be many professional players as well as thousands of unknowns taking part in this event to try and win it all. Will a well known pro win the event or will a previously unkwown player pull it off again, like the last 2 years? How many well known pros will be at the final table? None, 1, 2, 3, etc. The odds are definitely in favour of a unknown player winning it all again.

With that said...I'd like to announce that i'm starting a fun contest that involves the WSOP 2005 Championship Final Table. The contest involves guessing who you believe will make it to the final table of the WSOP 2005 Championship.

The following link will provide you some details on the WSOP Championship results over the last 5 years.

http://www.pokerpages.com/pokerinfo/.../wsop/wsop.htm

This may or may not help you in comprising a list of final table participants for this years event.

Here's an example of the final 9....

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson
Peter Giordano
Phil Ivey
Daniel Negreanu
Phil Hellmuth
Hasan Habib
TJ Cloutier
Mike Sexton
Juan Carlos Mortensen

None of my choices may even make the final table, but at least there are some of the best pros out there included in this sample list.

The Prize:

A $20 Poker Stars money prize will be awared to the THF member with the most correct predictions of the final table participants. This contest will run until July 7th, 2005 at 11:59AM MT. Then we wait until the results are in and i will check all posts to see who had the most correct predictions.

Tie Breaker

If more then 1 member has the same number correct participants, then the $20 Poker Stars money goes to the one who has the most prize money winnings with thier picks for the final table. Its as simple as that.

Example:

Member 1 has 2 right
Member 2 has 2 right

Member 1s 2 correct guesses finished 5th and 9th
Member 2s 2 correct guesses finished 7th and 8th

The prize would go to the member with the most total winnings.

In the event no one picks any final table participants correctly, then the member with the most prize money collected with thier 9 players win the $20.

Its as simple as that.

I have always wondered about these things.

1. Does fonz allow things like things.
2. Do YOU really pass the 20 dollars on.

Let me know.

I cant understand why he wouldnt allow this type of contest. Its designed to bring in more members to THF and get more THF members to sign up with Poker Stars, if they havent already. It gives the THF members who normally have little to no money a chance to win $20 and it costs the fonz absolutely nothing.

I am the one running the contest, and i will be the one handing out the $20 Pokers Stars money to the one with the most correct predictions on the final table participants for the WSOP 2005. I am good for it and I have more then enough to cover it.

For the sake of saving confusion and misinterpretation which can potentially become a problem, if you'd like to know answers to questions like those you just asked, please ask a leader. We are in contact with Fonze everyday and we will make everything as clear and precise as possible. We will also look into the situation if it were possibly a problem.

Fonze will most likely allow competitions like this granted there are no complicating factors. I don't see one here however, i'm sure he does want you to know that since it is not an official THF event, and that it is hosted by a member, not the site, that any problems or arguments you have ie. not getting paid or not being declared the winner when you were, are not to be taken to Fonze.

So far Stokenut its looking pretty good for u.....i guess no one (with the exception of u) wants to take a stab at a chance to win $20 dollars for Poker Stars. Keep in mind...if none of your picks make the final table, then u will at least have to have one of your picks place in the money.

Come on gang...lets get gong on this....do u want Stokenut to win because no one else submitted any final table picks.

Geez...i cant give money away here...what do i have to do to get people to particpate?

Oh well....your lose is Stokenuts gain.
