Default WPT

Well just got finished watching the WPT legends of poker. A couple of weeks ago I posted something about how i thought Doyle Brunson wasn't as good as he used to be and i was wayyyyyyyyyyy off after I watched this show. He totally schooled Lee Watkinson when they got heads up hand after hand after hand after hand. If you missed the show i am sure they are gonna show it again this weekend and you gotta see it. Doyle just leaned on the guy the whole match it was just so nasty how he took his chips.

doyal doesnt lose with crap hands. he gets out drawn. he seems to be a much better player when the table is short players. once a couple go down he kicks in to gear and starts pushing. seems a couple guys play him real well.

It seems to me that Doyle is super aggressive once he decides to play. It doesn't seem to matter the cards if he puts the other guy on a draw or weak hand. has anyone read his book? I would like to hear how good it is. thanks and good luck

Ironically, I was actually re-reading Supersystem last night while it came on. I did not even know that Brunson was going to be on the show this week. It was kind of cool to be reading about how he plays and watching him play at the same time. I have to say that he is not just blowing smoke in the book, it appears that he actually practices what he preaches. It was funny, in the beginning of the NL section he gives an example of a hand that he loves to play 76 suited and he says that he will often call large raises with a hand like that. About 5 minutes after I read that part, he calls a raise with 65 suited ( basically the same hand) and hit the straight on the flop and won the tournament. It made it sink in so much more that just reading it. I was like " this old mamma jamma actually DOES still play like this."

Yeah i watched the WPT last night, poor Lee Watkinson the man made it to 2 world poker tour final tables and last both heads up matches for first place. Hes a very good player to make it that far but he made some huge mistakes against Doyle and ELi. Doyle did play a very good game he acted out exactly what he says in Super System.

Doyle was very impressive, in my opinion. Then again, Lee couldn't hit anything.

Lee Watkinson teared through the tournement to get down to the final two. But once he got there, Doyle simply destroyed him. Doyle dominated the heads up match and deserves to win.
