Talking Phil Ivey... 2005 WSOP Main Event Champ?

I was watching of Fox Sports Network. The American Poker Championship and Phil Ivey and some other dude were the final two.

Phil Ivey is my favorite poker player and one of the reason why he is, is because his eyes. You ever watch Ivey in a hand? I would crap my pants if I was at a table with him. He has no expression in his face whatsoever. He's the freakin' man! I think he'll win the 2005 WSOP Any comments?

true phil has a good poker face but the fact is that an estimated over 3500 people or so will be at this years wsop which makes the chances of a pro winning very slim

I don't see Ivey winning the main event, but he is a great player. He played John D'Agostino, an internet player who has had success in live poker, in the American Poker Championship. Fox Sports Net had great coverage of the event. They showed many hands that are not seen on normal poker broadcast. These hands showed Ivey's true skill.

I like Ivey alot myself. But I dont know about him winning the main event. Last year he was pretty much not seen at all in any WSOP event. Everything I kept hearing about him is how he makes a ton of money at cash games and doesn't do much in tournaments.

Phil Ivey is very good and is hard to read but I would like tosee Negreanu win it all. He won overall last year but was eliminated early in main event. Another that would love to see is Harrington. He seems to quietly make the final table year after year. But with so many entries these days it is just about anyone's championship.

ivey is my favorite player as well for a couple reasons. one hes young, two i love the jerseys b/c i have tons of jerseys so i'm often wearing them while playing. 3 his style is awesome and i think he has one of the best table presence in poker.

I like Ivey too, and your right, reading a tell on him is near impossible. My pick for WSOP champ is gonna be a nobody. Someone that you have never heard of before or if you have, it'll be something small. All these people coming out of the woodwork in the last couple of years, there is no telling who the next Chris Moneymaker is gonna be. Look for the rookie, because no one knows much about their style of play.

Watching Phil Ivey got me into playing poker, so obviously, he's my favorite player. It'd be great to see him win it, but I have a feeling we won't know anyone when there's only one table left.
