I know and understand why many people do not like Phil Hellmuth, but he is a great player. He was great enough to make enough money in WSOP tournements to surpass T.J Cloutier and Johnny Chan on the all-time WSOP money list. This was a big deal when it happened two years ago. It took Hellmuth a 45 cashes to accomplish this, bringing his career total at the WSOP to $3,601,410. However, in one event, Greg Raymer completely demolished Phil Hellmuth's record. Though you may not like Phil Hellmuth, it is a shame that all his hard work and success will not stand the test of time on the WSOP all-time money list. He will me sent down into 3rd place next year when one man wins an estimated $8 million in the WSOP main event and will be sent down further if David Williams wins more than $100,000. Poker is a game with very few records, but one place that has always kept records is the WSOP. Now due to the growing popularity of poker, one prestigous record has lost all its glory. The record will now go to the most recent main event winner, year after year.
