I turned a free couple of dollars into $900 (currently). I tried to do it just as Ben said, with bankroll management, but really, I have done some really stupid things that payed off. I started off playing .02/.04 limit ring tables, then went to .02/.04 limit heads-up ring tables. Then to .01/.02 NL ring tables. Then with about $40, I jumped way up to .50/1. Man, that could have been a horrible decision. But it really payed off. I worked that up to $100. Then dropped to .25/.50 when I began slipping. Did very well there. Combined with a few other things, like finishing 5th in the THF + $1000 tourney and winning $160, I worked it up to $400. Then when it was around $600, I jumped to 1/2 limit ring tables, where I currently reside. I have been doing well there, but recently have been slipping some due to stupidity.

Alright... I'm finally back on the right track. After being away from poker for so long, I didn't exactly know what I was doing. I slowly and surely brought my stack back up to 10 more than I had deposited. Thanks for the tips, such as bankroll management-- I've found that to be a very huge part of how I can win money.

bankroll management is crucial in being a successful online player, it is best to learn from expericence that it is a lot easier to lose money than it is to win it
