Lightbulb Whats Your Opinion?

One of the features PStars lacks is the ability to show the cards you are folding when HU. I believe this can be strategic when trying to build creditability at your table. A good fold can be an asset when other players see it. We can do this in a live game!!

I love PStars, but I also have high expectations for them. There are micro-gaming sites that you have the ability to do this on.

Do you think it would be worth writing to them and requesting they add the feature or would I be wasting my effort? I think they want the games to move as fast as possible so they can make money, but this feature would be more representative of live play.

Most sites have the option, don't know why PS doesn't. Writing might be worth a shot if you feel it would give you a big enough advantage (being able to show once you fold) to warrant the effort.

I personally think it is VERY rare anyone should show and certainly not unless you are against caliber of players who can understand said plays.

By this I mean at least $50 buy-in tourneys

I agree with that, problem is I'm not playing those buy-in's. Sometimes the only way to get the loose and wreckless to calm down a bit is to show your hand when your playing against a good player who knows enough to fold. I would much rather show a good fold than the hand I won. It helps get respect from the good players, also.

I see your point CLC, but why would you want respect from a good player? you want to be underated. Why advertise you can lay down a hand?? it will only make decent players bluff you more in marginal situations. Now if your showing on purpose to encourage that so you can play passively when you have a monster and get paid off then fair enough, but I don't really see the value in showing (it is only beneficial in very few situations IMO). If it works for you though then go for it.

I am not talking about showing all the time, in fact when I play live I rarely if ever show my hand. There are just those circumstances where I would want to show and can't on PStars. Could be someone I have been HU with a couple of times and I'm saying OK you can take THIS time. I want players on their guard and knowing the type of hands I play. This makes a bluff that much easier down the road.

Showing someone you can laydown a hand can work to your advantage greatly. Show the bluffer that you can fold 2nd pair to 2 shells, it will only make them bluff you more and if your a good player, you can pick up on that right away and reraise them with nothing or flat call their bluffs with the same marginal hand that you told them you would fold earlier in the match. Being able to show a big laydown could set your oppenent on tilt for the simple fact that they felt they should have been paid off with the hand you folded and then flashed. The option of showing folded hands should be implemented ASAP on stars. The players that will benefit the most, will be the good players that know how to mix this into their arsenal of weapons already at their disposal. It is absurd to say this would not be a good tool for high stakes games. BTW rocket, there are sharks playing at the 10 and 20$ lvl and fish and donks playing at the 200,500, and all the way up to 5k lvl, so enough of your categorizing players by stake lvl.

BTW Gimme, the level of sharks at $10 is minimal at best, and yes there are donks all the way up the chain or else the sharks wouldn't make money (nice staing the obvious).

I still think showing a hand you laid down is at best a very rare thing you'd do and would unlikely make much of a difference in your ROI% at lower levels.

I actually would like it implemented because I think most players would be foolish enough to do it a lot and thus I'd have better reads on their starting hands.

Then you were missing my point rocket, I was saying show to confuse your opponent on future hands. If I play the same all through the game that would probably not work to my advantage.
