Default Good-bye Poker Stars

I recently received an email from poker stars security stating my real money account has been frozen until I send them a photo ID and utility bill. I've never been one to give out personal data regardless of how reputable a company. So it looks as though I will no longer play at poker stars.

They froze my account because they believe i'm related to someone who bounced an e-check and now has a financial obligation with them. They gave me that persons stars name and I have never heard of them. So of course I asked why in the hell they think i have anything to do with this guy. The later told me it was because I tried to deposit with the same credit card as this person. I was baffled.

Well then they gave me the history and I realized we did both try and use the same pre-paid visa giftcard from netspend. heres what happened: I'm able to obtain these pre-pay cards eaisily so when buddies from the live poker games i goto want to reload thier online account I would buy them one, text them the card number and they'd pay me back later that week in the live game. No harm in that However, One particular card was declined for one of the dealers at our game. He informed me that the card number I got him was no good. So I tried to use the card myself...declined just like him...odd. Well after that I was unable to do any real money processing.

Now they think we are related and my accounts frozen until I prove I am who I say I am. Well I explained to them what had happened in great detail. After upkeeping THF and Stars relations for a couple years now, I hoped they would be a little more understanding.

But they wern't so I say to them, screw you and your site Looks like full tilt gets my cash now.

Why don't you send in an ID Cowboy? I would send it in right away, if it was a signicant amount of money in the account, not a few bucks though.

Good luck on FTP then.

Your account was not frozen for no good reason, pstars is a very reputable company that takes these matters very seriously. Do not blast pokerstars for having outstanding security in place. Lets see I try to use my credit card, gift card whatever same thing and it comes back declined then the very next day someone else from somewhere else tries to use the exact same card. Ahh think Mcfly think! Not too smart pal. You got off light this time and LOL @ going to fulltilt, that site is awful the graphics suck its slower and 4 times as small as pokerstars.

I think you misunderstood gimme...the prepaid card was legit and active...it is this other guy they have a problem with not me. He bounced an e-check. They only made a connection to me and him from using the same pre-pay giftcard. So they decided to freeze me up because they can't get anything out of him and they know i was in contact with him in some form or fashion.

Damn...just when they turned the switch on for you to get the rockets...LOL

Kiss and make up cowboy...PS is too good of a site to give up...we lose all the games there, but they are always all available, day or night!...you can lose your bank there much faster than any other site.

Read about a similar situation on a different forum. I think the guy was associated by IP address in that case. Basically guilt by association. Same thing happens at FTP I would assume. Hope you didn't have too much money frozen on your account.

You realize this isn't enough to steal your identity right? Even if it did get into the right hands. Ever open up a bank account recently? They ask for lots of forms of ID, bills, credit cards, etc. Not sure what you're so paranoid about. Be happy PS goes to such lengths to prevent fraud, colluders, etc.

Full Tilt requires a copy of your ID and utility bill before they allow you to cash out.

Thanks for the heads up bud. I guess i may have to just give in and send it...just don't like having to do this. Even though its safe and they are reputable, the whole situation just kind of pisses me off to where I feel like going elsewhere.
