Default PokerStars Sunday Tournys

This is a question about tourny on Stars on Sundays... not the BIG tournys, but the small ones...

It's been quite awhile since I've played tournaments on Sunday afternoons... I'm looking at some of the numbers from today and I'm just astounded.

$1 tournys with 6000 and 7000 people in them...
$2.50 tournys with 10,000 in them
$2 PLO8s with 1200 in them

Are these numbers normal for Sundays or is it just because the sngs were down?

Ummm, a $1 tourny with a 1st place prize of over $1000 and a $2.50 tourny with a 1st place paying over $3100.

Where is the waste exactly?

I think it was all a test today. They shut down the sitngos to see how many entrants they would get in there big field tournaments. With bigger fields way more money for the super accounts to scoop up in these tourneys. And yes I am convinced, that stars has super accounts taking down most of these big tournaments they run.

What has you convinced of this? I can't agree for a couple reasons...

#1 - With what happened at AP more people have their eyes open

and

#2 - It doesn't make sense to me. Why would a business that makes as much money legitimately as this one does care about a few hundred thousand dollars a week? I mean, in the Sunday Million today they legitimately took in $116,790 in rake... in that one tournament! And even that figure is WAY low when you try to figure in the collective rake from all satalites to the weekly Sunday Million.

How much rake do you think PokerStars makes in one day? How much interest do you think they accumulate on the money that every PokerStars player has in their account?

I can't for the life of me understand why they would have any interest in knowingly running super accounts to take down a couple hundred thousand per week.

Pokerstars is the best site of them all by far. Better software than anyone and they do respond to any emails almost right away. AS to the super account theory on stars, well maybe that was just the tilt talking from all the badbeats I have recieved in big field tourneys on their site. Let's see though a few 100k per week for mr. or mrs. x from stars, well that is over 1 million bucks per month, I think that would be good enough reason for them. Although, it would seem to make no sense for them to try any funny business considering all the money they pull in on a nonstop basis. stars reps, gimme gimme gimme, i need i need i need, more, I want gimme i need please Dr. Marvin.
