| Too Easy to Rig the Hand Poker Stars | |

| | | | Too Easy to Rig the Hand I've been playing on-line for a few years now. One very consistent action by computer generated cards is the set-up of the hands and the play-off of the flop, turn and river giving many players a false sense of confidence and often leading to ruin. Playing on real tables in a real casino provides a stronger sense of realism, no doubt about that, and a much stronger sense of confidence that the card won't change on the fly, as is the opposite when playing on a computer site. You come away with a sense of being cheated. Why is that? I've heard many insulting reasons from would-be champions and people who spend and spend, but in reality are no further ahead at the end of a given day. They seem to add to the abrasive attitudes of inexperienced gamblers. PokerStars is no exception to this type of forced playoff. Having programmed computers for many, many years, I am very familiar with random number generators. This is a source of foolish argument in which no player may produce any sensible explanation. A programmer who works at one of these sites might. Because these sites are not under U.S. jurisdiction we are all at the mercy of people who may intervene, lower a rating, and impact your play, so that even when you are playing your best, you lose. Unaccounted for and unregulated these sites are a terror for virtually all players, even the spending fool, who over time, will lose it all to the site. Try complaining, even in a tournament, and watch your cards fall prey to others. 100% is a daunting track record. If you fail due to such discussion, which by all rights of fair play (which they claim), you should be able to say anything you want, and still not have your play impacted. I certainly expect to hear otherwise, however, your argument and use of many words and insults will not change the web site. The only possible mechanism of fair play is to have an agency, or person, much like the commissioner of baseball, who has total power, and cannot be fired, to regulate the dealing engine and the system must be verifiable, for which only a few of us in the IT business can guarantee. Event the US government cannot vouch for anything. After all they condone electronic voting machines. | |

| | | | The question that enters my mind is how would the game be rigged to benefit the players in the game? I am fairly certain that a good amount of collusion goes on in these games: BOB" I have AcJd, what do you have?"; Ted (on other line), " I've got pocket 99, Maria has JJ, let's see the flop!" (other seven players are clueless). But it seems that if the game is rigged, it would be due to the nature of the program that seems to predetermine the outcome of the hands. The sites are only interested in the revenue stream from the players. | |

| | | | YEah. Something is wrong with PokerStars.
I live four hours away from any casino so most of my play is online.
I usually play on several sites. I used to play on Stars, but not anymore. I am successful playing my style on almost every other site but Stars. I found myself with the best hand with all the money on Stars on numerous occasions only to be sucked out on. It wasn't just hold'em, it was Omaha and Stud too. Granted, bad beats happen, but they are nowhere near as prevalent as they are on Stars.
I only play FullTilt, JetSet, and two new ones....PokerChamps (when the software works), and PokerHost. I play the same way, and come away with the money more often than not. There are still beats, but the ones that happen on PStars are ridiculous.
I was planning on a little experiment to find out. Basically, I would play some tournaments and play bad cards, get most/all of my money in on hands where I believed I had six or fewer outs, like having K-Q against A-A with a board of Q-8-3 rainbow. Just to see what would happen. I decided not to because I didn't want to waste a few hundred bucks or the time to do that. I just hate that site now, and pray every night that someone NOT from PokerStars wins the WSOP this year. | |
