I'm sure it's not the case, but it feels like that is what usually happens to me, not just occasionally, long run of garbage, one good hand and out.

In a similar vein, just got dumped from a sng, about 30 hands in. Got to play in 4. Won 1 lost 3. The 3 losses were all best pf. My one win was the next hand after the crippling 2nd loss. I was on tilt. Called all-in with just a draw. Utter stupidity. Guess what hit the river? So all 4 hands were suckouts. The moral being play like an idiot and the game is rigged to give you the cards.

Paranoid? I said there was one hand crippled me. Guy calls 4XBB with 92o, he hits the 2, my big A misses both cards. Now I watched this guy. I really watched this guy. The only time he made that play was the one time the cards were coming. Every other raise that got shown was on a sensible hand. So why does an apparently sensible player suddenly play like an idiot for just one hand, and it works? I mean it wasn't even the usual excuse of a big stack knocking out a little stack as we were no where near all-in, and his stack wasn't that wonderful. So did he know what was coming? Like I said elsewhere, I'm a programmer, with inside access I could arrange to cheat like that, but I don't have the access.

Bah, "rigged to give the idiots cards" is another table saying pet peeve of mine. Players just tend to forget the draws that miss. It's like the guys who build from 1500 to 15,000 in the first hour and then say "my luck is terrible" when they get outdrawn.

To me that's just funny. I honestly don't know what stakes you play off hand, but if these players do have the "inside info" then don't you think they would be playing a bit higher stakes? Not to mention that if they know what is coming then why is he playing good quality poker the majority of the time?

THF Player of the Year
I've no problem when someone raises with any two cards (when I can do that myself and get success, then I think I'm playing well. I feel I'm in control of that particular table)

If I play against my opponents any-2-cards raises and I get out played when he hits - then it's my fault.

I'm less happy when I'm strong and raising - and for no apparent reason - someone calls me and hits with his any-2-cards.
Sometimes, it's likely that they are infact poor players. It's frustrating and can be demoralising when they do hit on you.
Other times though, we have to take into account that it's ourselves that are telling the story during the hand and if our play doesn't tell a good enough story to that particular player, then again - it must be our own fault.

One other point, with all respect..I agree with what's been said but I may be right in saying that xtra and Fink who play generally at higher levels than myself are possibly less likely to meet the same types of players that I might meet - and sometimes I feel justified in using the label - donk!

Yeah yeah, I know, I was just pissed off. But 7, he wasn't raising, he was calling a big raise, once and only once, with crap cards. Every other time he called a raise and the cards flipped, it wasn't rubbish. If he had been a call anything bloke I could have understood. It just doesn't make any sort of sense.

Yeh I understand what you're saying RD, I've had the same thing. It's unfathomable.

Only thing that makes sense, on mature consideration, is that he pressed the wrong button and didn't like saying so after getting lucky.

RD I know in some cases if I get a gut feeling about a hand, and I mean one that gets you feeling all funny inside like when you used to climb the ropes in gym I will call, but if it was a big raise then I say no, now if he had a lead and said what the hell go with my gut well then thats another story in itself.

If he played as tight as you say after that hand then possibly he had checked call/any and meant to check the check/fold tab.

Now as for bad cards. After my first 2 months on Cake I was on fire there wasn't a hand that I could play that would lose then just like that BOOM I struggle at every game I play there. Is it in a persons head when they go on a losing streak like that? I think maybe yes. I went on a bad streak at stars took a week off came back and wha la. Just need to clear the old melon once in a while.

Yeah, cheers Chris. The "old melon" is clear now. Just needed to get it out of my system.
