they probebly wanted to claim all the domains. .com / .net / .any Just so no one else could copy thier name, or something like that.. forexample if you goto whitehouse.gov you'll find yourself on a politocal site, but if you goto whitehouse.com well thats a whole nother world. I would imagine pokerstars claimed all domains just to protect thier interests.. : )
for legal reasons you can't advertise gambling on tv. To get around this pokersite including Pokerstars use .net in their advertising. Since the .net site is freemoney/playmoney it isn't considered gambling. They advertise the .net site as a place to learn etc. Often sites will call their .net site a poker school.
yea that is kind of intersting, there are loop holes in absolutly everything as long as you look hand enough (even the law, but shhhh dont let the cops know)
Yeah, Pokerstar.net seems different in the name of the software and the installiation process. It is just a way to buy out all of the domains like the other guy said.

I have seen Party, Pokerstars and Ultimatebet all advertise on the WPT on travel or ESPN.
I think NBC did not want to take any "gambling" ads during the superbowl.
I guess thry are afraid it may equal to a tit showing or some kid will sign up, drain his dads credit card and bakrupt a family then sue NBC for pushing gambling on their kid.
