| Problem freerolls Poker Stars | |

| | | | Problem freerolls Is it just me or does anyone else feel that the freerolls are much too large. Wouldn't be smart to lower amount of entrants and maybe offer more freerolls as AP does? | |

| | | | Um.....what are you talking about? LoL , which site are you referring to? Arent freerolls supposed to be large cause they are...er.....FREE!! hehe....but i have a noticed a shit load of people at stars , i was in a 14k tourny! 14000 people....although it was down to 2500 at first break so all it really does is give you more chips to play around with, if u can survive the first hour or so of a freeroll you'll be pretty much set from then on!! | |

| | | | I agree to what you are saying but they are the only site(that I play on) where they have such a large amount of entrants. As for surviving the first hour I find it hard most times as there are a large number of the players that will call anything and I do mean anything and catch. I know every hand is technically a potential hand till the flop but when pre-flop you see most players reraise with nothing ie 2-3,10-2,j-3 and say I am sitting with a pkt pair or connectors whether suited or not and I call and getbeat to me that seems a little screwy. Guess what I am trying to get at is if there are fewer players there is less of a chance for those type of players, maybe not but it feels like the right solution. Guess I am just a bitchy player.Maybe this does not make any sense. | |

If you can steal pots with your draws or hit them they are great but remember also that you'll miss your hand 2 out of 3 times on your open ended and flush draws.
Generally, with pockets unless they are high ones, in which case I'm raising, I usually want to see a flop at the cheapest price and hit a set.
I'm just answering the post here and I'm not suggesting you don't know how to play freerolls since I believe you have some success but those calls to raises with connectors, small and medium pockets and also calls with those medoicre hands like A10,AJ,KJ,QJ,JT, Ax-suited etc are putting your stack in danger .Raise or fold is most often the way.

| | | | Why don't you try the Next-Best-Thing-to-Freerolls. I'm talking about the $0.10 Buyins (plus $50) that start at 20:07, 21:07 and 22:07 ET in the evenings. They draw only 3000 players and are Turbos. The payoffs start at the 594th player. Big fun for a small investment. | |

| | | | If any of you looked at what me and couplecraft have been saying here and on FRF, you would know that we are hitting around 50% cashes in freerolls that don't get close to 100 entered. They are over in < 2 hrs, and the turbo ones < 1 hour. And you guys actually want to waste all that time just in case you get lucky against 14K people and finish in a minor place for a few cents??? Whereas, if I hit the final table, I get $1 for just scraping into the money in 10th of 60 or 70 ($50 on offer overall).
'Scuse me if I don't see the point of vast field freerolls, I can be a bit thick at times.
(Since I wrote the above I have been in 1 FR and 1 Turbo FR. Total playing time, a few minutes over 2 hours. Placed 7th and 2nd, total profit $12.50, see what I mean?)

| | | | depends what your goals are. If it is to improve in poker and have some fun then there are plenty of freeplay tourneys with 100 people and plenty of small sites with 500 people maximum.
Also on sites like stars the numbers are hugely misleading as over half the field will sit out for large periods of time .
There are some satelite freerolls (UB etc) which are another option but the main thing is dependant upon what your focus is ($$ or experience or fun without getting a sore bum)
THF freerolls are always good for all three. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
