Tickets To $500 Invitation Only Freeroll

I got three of these tickets when I signed up through this site. Is that freeroll only available to new players on Poker Shootout? The reason I ask is that I have watched these over the past week or so and I notice some players have played more than five in a row. How did they get so many tickets? Is it just a thing of "Who you know?"
