There are bots out there, Pokertropolis uses then according to bonuswhores.

If someone was using them on a site they'd only play ABC poker, they'd play premium cards and pot odds, I doubt they've made one yet to worry a decent player.

I play at Bayou, a PokerRoom skin, and the lobby says the same there for the NL tables, confusing? Yup!

They wouldn't be too dangerous as they can't think. They'd only play AA,KK etc and the likelyhood of you coming up against "it" when "it" had a hand are pretty slim. I'm not an expert on it but do a google search, you'll should find a few articles.

Multiple accounts and collusion are far more danerous to your bankroll

pokerroom lables the NL tables contrary to the normal. $5-$5 means the mimimum bet at all times is $5. They do not list the small and big blinds.

There are two kinds of bots.

The first are the computer generated AI that just use the computer to play online. Online sites do a lot to search these out and make sure they are not infesting their sites.

There was an article on another forum about a bot ring that Party broke up a few months ago.

There is also something called the 'gold farming' bots. This is where in third world countries they hire people to play and use software to determine their best move. This defeats the ability the poker room has to monitor other programs that are running on the client computer to determine bot usage.

Either way, I wouldn't worry too much about bots, or for that matter people who use odds calculators to determine their best play.

Poker is about the best hand, but its also about bluffing. Bots, are mist susceptable to bluffing.

To this date although computers are better than man at chess, man is better than a computer at poker.

Im having problems understanding the Pokerroom if anyone can help. I have not played there in over 1 year. I have won money in the freerolls a few times and was thinking what a great way to start an account instead of making a deposit. So then i thought i might try a small buy-in tourney, and they said the funds i won could not be used for this until i make a deposit. Have not been back there since ?

At Pokerroom, you have to earn player points to release money won in freerolls and deposit bonus money. You have to earn 4 points for every dollar won. In other words, if you won $20 in a freeroll, youd have to earn 80points. You earn points by playing in real money ring games and for tourney entry fees.Points earned are based on the rake. You earn 0.07 pts for every 10cents paid in rake and 5 pts for every dollar paid in tournament entry fee. The money isnt released in increments, you have to earn the entire amount before any of it is released. The upside is that once youve earned the points, they dont subtract points to release money. so if you win that same amount again in another freeroll, you dont have to earn 80 more points. I think $75 is first place in their freerolls so youd need 300 points. So if you really only play there for the freerolls, i suggest depositing an amount that, if you earn 300 points, will also release your first deposit bonus and youll be covered for freerolls also. The majority of my online play has been at Pokerroom until about the last year. Now i usually only play there for the freeroll or the $1000 lucky dollar tourney.

But that's only because of the way man has design it to be, there is very little if any luck in chess it is in it's essence a very precise and calculated game.....however the fortunate thing with poker is it is totally random and does have an element of "luck" and it's that aspect I feel we will never be able to teach any software.......as of course a computer cannot understand the concept of luck as there is no mathematical explanation to it.....and therefore I feel never will be as good as a human at the game we all love and call poker.

Do bots banter.....????? lol

If so can you get "rail bots"....???? lol
