Everyone expected the PCA 2009 to become the biggest one yet and after day 1b we can say that that IT is the biggest EPT tournament ever. The winner of this tournament will win $3,000,000 and that’s even a million more than last years winner received! Also the #2 and #3 will walk away a millionaire. At the eight-handed final table everyone will at least receive $214k.

Bad Beat Jackpot Madness

Losing with 4 of a kind is a nightmare to many but to some it is a dream come true. There are a few pokersites who reward this player with a part af the Bad Beat Jackpot liker Reefer Poker. The jackpot on Reefer Poker, part of the Merge Network, is currently standing at $906,153.45. The highest jackpot ever in online poker.

On specially labelled ring game jackpot tables and extra 50 cent is collected from every pot which contributes to the Bad Beat Jackpot. As soon as a player has a monster hand cracked, the jackpot will be won with every active player at the table receiving a portion of the prize money.

Bad Beat Payout Structure:

Ofcourse there are a few requirements:

- The losing hand must be at least a Four of a Kind 7s, with a 2 kicker
- The winning hand must be at least a Four of a Kind 8s, with a 2 kicker
- Both the winning and losing hands must include both hole cards, and in the case of a Four of a Kind must include a pocket pair.
-At least four players must be dealt in at the start of the hand
- The hand must have generated jackpot rake (ie. $0.50)
- Two or more players must be active at the end of the hand, and it must go to showdown.

With the current jackpot op 906K the winner (the player who lost the hand) will receive $317,153!!! The winner of the hand will receive $158,576 and the rest of the players at the table get to equally share $158,576!

Other Bad Beat Jackpots as of 01/07/09:

Cereus Network (Ultimate Network & Absolute): $246,533.45

The losing hand on here has to be at least four eights instead of Reefer’s four sevens. A big difference on Cereus is that every player playing the same game and limit will also receive a piece of the jackpot.

Microgaming Network Bad Beat Jackpot stands at $167,649.45

- 70% is distributed as winnings:
- - -50% to the losing hand, the Bad Beat
- - - 25% to the winner of the hand
- - - 25% evenly split between the other Players who actively participated in the hand
- 20% is used to seed the next Jackpot
