As many of you may already know, PokerHost has sent out an email stating that they terminated my contract and being vengeful, I emailed everyone telling them not to play at PokerHost. This is an absolute lie, for one, as I was not fired, I left after I began asking questions about the ownership/management and they refused to pay me what they owed me, and until now, I havent emailed anyone from the Forum. But, I believe I deserve a chance to give you all my side and the whole truth about PokerHost. Let me be perfectly clear, though, I am not asking anyone to stop playing at PokerHost, that decision is entirely up to you.
I worked for PokerHost for almost 2 years and all went pretty well until about a month or so ago when management changed. The Marketing Director and Affiliate Manager both quit and the whole company has gone downhill since. There are quite a few things about PokerHost that the owner doesnt want anyone to know, but I am about to reveal some of the truth to you all. 2 weeks ago, I suggested that I would email you all and reveal what I knew to PokerHost management and they sent me a virus that destroyed my hard drive, in what I believe was an attempt to destroy the database of forum members that I have. But, luckily, being smarter than the average bear, I had it all backed up on CD!
One thing to remember when you put your money on any online gaming site, they are all located offshore. This means that at any given time, they can, at their discretion, close your account for any or no reason at all and keep your money. They can even close down their whole site and keep all of the money, without any worries of legal reprocussions whatsoever. In fact, the owner of PokerHost and SBG Global, Bobby D., has done this before! Many of you may remember a site named Desert Poker. Desert Poker had great deposit bonuses and easy clearance of these bonuses, thus gaining many depositors in a very short period of time. After gaining what many estimate to be appr. $500,000, they closed down, never to be heard from again, and kept all of the money that was deposited. The owner of Desert Poker, which stole all of the hard earned money that its players deposited, is the same person who owns SBG and PokerHost, Bobby D. Who is to say that the same thing wont happen at PokerHost? Another thing they dont want revealed is one of the new policies they are planning on inacting. Just like on many SportsBooks online, PokerHost is planning on initiating the 90 day rule. Basically that means that no matter how much anyone has in their account, if they dont Deposit or withdraw funds in a 90 day period, the account is then deemed inactive, closed, and all moneys are kept by PokerHost. The worst part about this policy is that the owner wants to do this w/out notifying any of the players who's money will be taken, not giving them a chance to deposit or w/draw! This policy will also include affiliate accounts as well. You may say to yourself that this cant be so, PokerHost would never do that. But I ask you, did they notify anyone when they increased their rake? Did they notify anyone when they started taking rake from micro limit tables, as low as $.01??? Most reputable sites dont rake micro limit tables, and if they do, they have a rake min., usually 5 cents. And now, after all of you patiently enduring all of the software problems for months and months, they are getting ready to switch software platforms, which they could have done as opposed to making us all go through all of the "upgrades" and "migration". They are switching over to Tribeca Networks, the same software as DoylesRoom and GoldenPalacePoker. They have continually failed to tell their players any truths, especially when it comes to Forum members. We used to get a $500 freeroll every month, then, without notice they dropped it to a $300 freeroll every month. They then gave us a weekly $100(usually in seats) freeroll, but later, w/out notice, they dropped it to a weekly $50 freeroll(again, mostly in seats). They then, again, w/out notice, dropped it to $25 a week, no seat qualifiers allowed. All of these changes hurt the forum, as many regular members got sick of the B.S. and left. But, some of you were loyal enough(and I thank you all for that) to hang around, no matter what the prizes were. But, in the end, the constant lowering of prizes and lying to players will make even the most loyal of members look elsewhere.
Again, I want to stress that I am not asking any of you to leave the PH Forum, stop playing at, or to pull your money out of PokerHost. What I am doing is giving you all facts so that you can make an informed decision on what to do.... | I IMMEDIATELY uninstalled PH from my computer, I would expect everyone else to do the same!

| | | | It's a sad story isnt it.
Unfortunately history tells us that gaming institutions have frequently been managed by undesirable characters. That's not to say theyre all untrustworthy.
Pokersites have popped up everywhere on the net and the numbers keep increasing. I'm sure many of them are reputable. I just think you need to be very careful who you leave your money with.

| | | | What a Bunch of Theives Thanks for the heads up k06. I have had their software gone for sometime now and haven't missed it one bit. But seriously, what they are doing is wrong and I just don't understand how these kind of people can sleep at night? That is why I would only deposit on the more popular sites (poker stars, full tilt, absolute, ultimeate bet, etc.).

| | | | Yeh..I wanna withdraw from P4E but I'm hesitant to send out my driver's license...they seem legit but you never know - they could end up getting bought and and then the new owner's may enjoy having fun playing identity fraud.

| | | | Interesting e-mail, but I gotta ask -- how do we know that his accusations are accurate and not the workings of a disgruntled employee who is trying to do damage to the site? Unfortunately, our human nature and the internet combine to make it so easy to spread negative truths and rumors.
I'm not a PokerHost player, so I don't have a feel on what is happening there...just throwing out some food for thought.

| | | | I certainly think that's chewable wbtczn. Good point.
We can't trust every site we sign up for and neither can we trust everything we read...
I think I was going to say something better than that....no...I lost my track
England and Stella won tonight.

| | | | Can you actually believe him? Hi all, was browsing through this forum and found this post and i was amazed.
Some of this may be true but i know jeff and what he is like and i assure you he will make up any kind of BS.
Let me give you a quick background:
Jeff used to run poker rebellion, and before that as i recall he used to help out at mycallingisyou.
I was a member of mycallingisyou and he actually did something horrible to the owner (send out an email while the owner was away telling them that the site had moved to poker rebellion)
He even denied it after saying that he stated in the email that he was moving to poker rebellion. well a lot of people got that email and a lot of people know exactly what he said..... anyway
He started off advertising CDPOKER, and they accidentally messed up a tournament they gave him.......
so what did he go and do? RANT RANT RANT about how bad they were and how he was loyal to his members and was not going to advertise them anymore... so they offered him a bigger freeroll and what did he do then? well he praised them at how fantastic they were and how cooperative they were.
The next happened at redlight poker, not sure if u are aware but they had those $1500 free tournaments when they 1st started up. anyways he won some money and they didnt pay him straight away so what did he do??
He ranted in the forum about how crap they were.
Then when they finally paid him. oh they were so good and all people needed was a little patience.
see where this is going??
Anyway about poker host, he had been working there for a while. and i never did like the site, but he used to praise how good the staff were and that i needed to cut them more slack (and this was after the new management too)
and i told him about the conspiracys and he would shove it off as "you're wrong, ive met the new staff, i've been there".
well my friend told me one particular day that pokerhost was cutting down forum moderators because they were going to abolish the forum as they didnt need it anymore.
Well jeff bragged to him as they had said he was one of the forum moderators they were going to keep on, saying how he was the best forum moderator they had... and that was the case... for 2 weeks
Then 2 weeks they get rid of him and there wa s uproar, he started slating them off, starting his own conspiricies and basically causing trouble for them
all because "The Great One" could not have his own way.
so guys the only way jeff will ever say something nice about them is if they give him a settlement for all his hard work.
Because if jeff doesnt like you he will start all kinds of bullshit about you.
and its only when you offer him something he automatically changes his opinion
( he even said i hacked into his databases via his ftp account)
and also posted my personal information on his page
so like i said, true or not, it may be, but because jeff came up with it, im 80% sure its a load of BS

| | | | First off, this thread is OVER A YEAR OLD.
But I'll keep it open for now...
From what you've said, it sounds as if Jeff ranted and complained when poker companies screw up - do you view this as a problem? If a poker site screws up, the public NEEDS to know about it. It doesn't sound like Jeff was looking for a settlement for his hard work, but rather he was looking for what was rightfully his, as per the deals made between himself and the poker sites (I am taking this simply from what you have posted here).
With that said, I would like to know who you are. You always need to take information given with a grain of salt. You didn't give us any information about how you know Jeff, what you do in the online poker world, or anything like that. I'd be interested to know this information, as it would give myself (and the other members here) a much better idea as to what your angle is here (not to offend, but everyone has an angle - ESPECIALLY when they go into year old threads like this one and make a post as detailed as yours).
