Default Poker.com to continue to allow US play

via email:

We just wanted to let everyone know that the proposed legislation in the United States will have little to no affect on the operations at Poker.com. We will not be stopping US based players from playing at Poker.com and all player account balances are 100% safe and will always be readily accessible. Our business is licensed and regulated, perfectly legal under international law and we follow all laws in the jurisdictions where our operations are based (Canada, UK, Netherlands Antilles & Australia).

Poker.com has actually been recording record numbers of new player signups from the USA since the announcement of the proposed law. A lot of players seem be choosing Poker.com as their new site of choice, which is great news for everyone and we look forward to the day when US politicians realise their errors and decide to regulate one of their country's favourite pastimes - playing poker with their friends online.

That'll be a pretty damned good site if what they're saying about new sign ups is true. Last time I was there it was hard to find action, and I wasn't pleased with customer support. That's back when they started, though. Nice interface.

It appears that it is indeed the publicly traded companies that are running for cover. And now that the Poker Stars IPO has been canceled there is hope there.

I left poker.com partly because the freerolls filled up so fast you hardly ever got in. That was probably sometime after MoneyMonkey. So now there are even more people!!!

this is actually a good site. the freerolls allow max of 1500 but alot of the players are very loose so they drop like flies and fast. I cannot count the times I finish in the top 25. also I have noticed an incline of US players at the tables

Poker.com has been one of my favorite sites since I was knee high to a grasshopper, well at least since last year when i began playing online, and it still is. I love the features, the graphics and the variety they offer with both ten and six player games, regular and turbo. The only downer is now that they are one of the few sites for US players. they have reduced the number of freerolls and offer more $2, $3, and $5 games. But I still love the site.
