I seem to do best in re-buy tournaments...I don't go crazy like most of the players, but I am not afraid to go all-in...I prefer betting an all-in then calling an all-in...I also only have one interest and that is to build my stack...I normally just want to get it to a decent point and then protect it though, not to try and make it a super monster.

thats a very interesting take on it fink. i have played these type tournaments every now and then (they usually cost too much after you get past all the rebuys and the add on), but have only cashed one time. the one time i cashed i didnt need to rebuy once, as i caught AA or KK a half dozen times before the break, and they held up every time. i like your strategy where you will call with any hand if there are multiple players already in the pot. you bring up a good point. this gives you overwhelming pot odds no matter what two cards you hold. come to think of it, i have seen many people play like this in these type tournaments in the past. i'll see a guy flip over 56 in a large, multi-way hand, and take down a huge pot when he makes a set or hits a straight. next time i play in one of these tournaments i think i'll try this strategy and see how it works out

if you want to play rebuys but dont want to rebuy to often a game i play sometimes is the $10 one rebuy and one add on - not as mad as a normal buy in (still mad first half hour or so) and you choose your moment and it holds you can double triple or quadriple your stack in the first hour, I have played this several times and did pretty good just missing out on the money, must of been a few bad beats!!

Also I find in rebuys that after the break step back and dont play first few hands as some people still play like its a rebuy and keep going all in with any two cards

I agree with Jones that if you can choose you're moment and hold then you can have success. I love these tournies and play moderately conservative in the beginning waiting for the right spots. My favourite is having the loose cannons shooting directly after me, then I'll go all-in with any of the top 10 or so hands. Unless I really like the table I'm at; I tend not to re-buy at all. The way I see it is that there are always going to be many more re-buy tournies and I'd rather start on even grounds then short-stacked with a re-buy for the same price. I have a buddy who is one of the big re-buy guys and his philosphy is that his time is worth a lot of money and why should he grind it out for 3-4 hours in a tournament when he can either get a large stack and start pushing people around or can move on to the next game. To each his own I guess.
