If you make a withdrawal, do your cards then actually get worse?

I have seen several others say this, that when they make a withdrawal they get lousy cards...and if they make a deposit they get good cards.

That sounds really far-fetched to me. I have not made a withdrawal yet, but I want to take out what I originally deposited. But if I did and started to think I was getting more than my share of bad cards and bad beats, I'd be more paranoid than Cheech & Chong with THE MAN in their rear-view mirror.

What's been you guys' experiences?

I've yet to experience taking out money...if I ever do I'll let you know...

Mule, here's my logic on this question that keeps popping up at the tables. When I request a check be sent to me it is usually under a couple of conditions.

1. My bankrolll is high from recent wins and I want to send myself a check before I lose it.

2. My bankroll was high and I am losing it and want to capture some profit.

Since in both cases I have been on somewhat of a winning streak, it is very likely that I will now experience a downturn in luck. Everyone in here knows for certain that your luck runs in cycles just like the tide. No matter how good you are, sometimes there is no accounting for luck.

So, in about 90% of all cases when people cash out they are at the top of a wave and heading down anyway. Make sense?

As I stated...pulling money out hasn't been a problem I've had to deal with, but let me tell you what I think.

I may be new to the Hold'em world but I've played poker since i was 8. The term we used was ratholing your money. This refers to sticking money you've won in your pocket so you won't lose it. It did seem when you do this that pretty quick your reaching back in your pocket
to pull that money back out.

But, like most poker superstitions, I don't think there is any basis in fact. What would be the advantage to PS to changing the RNG in favor of your opponents? I take it, this is their accusation?

I think it is just another part of the "blame anything, but ourselves" age we live in! When people start to do this they should stop and read some Elmer G. Letterman quotations such as:

"A man may fall many times, but he won't be a failure until he says someone pushed him."

"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity."

"Next in importance to having a good aim is to recognize when to pull the trigger."

Oh Well, just my 2 cents worth. But what the hell do I know!

Thanks for the response. Ace, you make a lot of sense there, saying that if you are cashing most likely it's cause you're winning, so maybe you were due for a downturn anyway. Thanx to EF also for saying he's never seen anything different happen. And Jim...thanx for the comic relief!

I pretty much thought this was nothing more than players reading something into what wasn't there. Let's say there are a few players at a table who have recently made withdrawals...and a few that have made deposits. Plus the RNG has to put cards on the turn and river that will increase the rake (another old wive's tale)...the damn RNG generator would blow up.
