Default You have got to be kidding me...

I'm in an FPP qualifier, about an hour into it, down to 60 people, blinds at 50-100, I have 6k in chips I get pocket Aces in early position, I raise it to 300, everyone but the button folds, he raises to 1000, he has 7k in chips, we are both in the top 10 in chips, so I reraise all in, he calls instantly and shows AJ, flop comes 1067, and then it turns ugly, turn comes K, river comes...you gotta be kidding me...Q, SOB idiot goes all in with big stack against another big stack with AJ preflop, jeez...these fpp satelites are killing me yesterday I have an average stack and get all in preflop with KK, guy has AA, ARGHHHH

In general the less people pay the more hands they play. Now that is not a very good strategy. That is part of why I play all limits. I try to play the same at every level. I think it is important not to get outside yourself when you are playing. Its a shame that other maniacs don't abide by this though. Just be glad that maniac didn't hit you in a big buy in event because that would have been even more devastating. It is never fun to lose but the pill is easier to swallow when the prize is not as incredible or easy to reach. I always feel pretty good when someone turns over a 8 to 1 underdog, but you have to remember that that still means that out of every 8 hands he will win one. The biggest underdog is 9 to 1 preflop AA vs AK. 9 to 1 is certainly no lock and that is why we play poker. In reality if there are 8 people or more in a pot preflop there is NO hand which is statistically so miserable that you should lay it down. Of course I don't play that way, but its food for thought. Gl at the tables.
