Default A little rant (late registration)

We've all seen'em at one time or another. You're registered for a 'big' tourney, you know, 200+ players and you've actually been playing for upwards of 5 - 8 minutes or so. Then, you lazily look at the registration page and realize that the tourney that you thought began with 240 players is STILL registering and is up to 252!!!! WTH is this?

Well, PS calls it Late Registration. I won't go into what I call it. Suffice it to say it pulls my chain. Why? Well, berate me if you wish, however, I'm one of those guys that goes by the clock. Meaning, if I tell you that I'm going to be somewhere at a certain time, and I'm not, you can almost bet that you'll be reading about me in the obituaries. If you see what time a tourney starts and you fail to register ahead of that time, shame on you. But is it fair to those (ok, ok, so me today....alright?) who are already down 300 or 400 chips, that you come flop your butt next to them with your 1500, virgin chips?!?

Here, let me deposit those little jewels for you. >

Say what you like......I don't care if you defend the practice. If you take a stance, that's what it's all about! REGARDLESS......I feel better! ;D

Well try playing live rebuy events. They generally except late registration up to 30 minutes into the event. There is something to gripe about. I dislike late registration for this sole reason. If I see a tourney is at 190 entrants I will join no matter what the buy-in because I know that only two tables will be paid and they will be paid very well percentage wise. If it goes just over 200 then they will pay three tables and the payoff drops tremendously. That late registration makes it nearly impossible to value hunt.

30 minutes?!?! WOW! You're right....my whining seems rather minute after hearing that. But, like MightyMC, I'm curious. How does that 2-table thing work?

I'll try give a little help...I think it goes like this 100-199 they pay 2 tables, 200-299 3 tables or soemthing like that so what hes saying is that he'd rather play in one with 190 then one with 201, because the top 2 tables will get more $ because of there only being 2 tables to pay out and almost the same prize pool whcih means taking 12th in the 190 person will give more cash then 12th in the 201 person, hope that helps.
