Default 69madman69

I have played against 69madman69 a few times in tourneys. He plays very tight before the first break and won't go all in unless he has an almost unbeatable hand. His theory is that he can pick up the loose players money as there are lots of risk takers in the first 60 minutes.

After the second break if he has a stack he will take more chances. But, he rarely makes any mistakes and I have seen him fold pocket QQ with nothing higher on the table. In that case the winner had 666. Now how he knew I have no idea.

After the second break I have seen him go all in preflop with A8, which in my opinion is a bit risky if not dumb. But, in his defense he won and he had the stack to absorb a loss.

He is a veteran internet and live action player. He knows and talks the game like a pro.

Update: It is my prediciton that he will be in the 2005 WSOP and will place in the money.

I agree totally. It took me awhile (and was fairly expensive) but I finally learned not to take on the madman early on in any tournament. I finally beat him in a 6 man game after we got to heads-up recently, but that improves my record against him to about 1 win in about 20 attempts.

I'm not usually one to give praise to other player play (other than mine), but "Mr. Madman" as I now call him deserves it. He has definitely improved my play while simultaneously lightening my wallet.

I watched the Madman in a $11 rebuy yesterday. He got to the last 10 players. He got hosed on the river by a straight out of nowhere and didn't make the final cut.

It was a sad thing to see...

I agree...but what about jiminoregon? He truly seems to be the "sleeper" in this tournament. By that I mean, he plays like he is asleep!

Still I see great things in his future, possibly a career with the WPT, WSOP, or any other pro circuit. They are looking for janitors, aren't they?
