How would you have played it?

| | | | UTG (one off) even though short staked the all in with 44 is looking desparate I dont like this play.
As for the rest of the hand I feel it is routed there. 2-3 years ago or more if I was looking at this hand and had no reads on opponents i would have thought that someone has a monster and would recommend folding there and usually would have been able to fold there.
That is of course assuming you have no info on this player. This stage in the tourney you should be watching the other tables and have reads on him.
Now, post consepts of harrington and others in connection with everyone knowing M and often these theories getting misapplied etc. I see this sort of play on a wide range of hands and also I see the call before yours as not neccisarily mega strong.
Basically what has happened is the weak steal has deprived you of getting the info you need to make the hand foldable in todays game unless you have solid reads. You could be against a hand range from 1010, aj probably and i think you played it spot on. didnt have the info to make the fold .
Had both players been tight solid and the 1st player not appeared to be too concerned about their chip stack then I think you could have folded but that wasnt the way at least the first player played the game and you were stuck in calling. Folding would have been ok but I think you were right to reraise their even though it went badly.

| | | | Yeah, I agree. I would have made the call.
What did you score for that finish? Congrats, 20th out of 2k is great.

| | | | Hey Angel,
I'd prolly have made the same play. The flat-call just seemed like such a weak move w/out any reads on the guy. Looking at the HH, I'm guessing the guy wanted someone to shove over him.
Sadly, if this guy had read Phil Hellmuth's bust-out in this year's Main Event, he may not have slow-played them like he did, and instead, made an iso-raise to go heads-up where Aces are the best. This would have given you a chance at least to get away.
Since it was mentioned as well, your M is at a healthy 22-23, so perhaps here, a flat-call by you may have been better and on the flop when Aces bet out, you could get away from it with the King on the board. However, flat-calling would have taken 1/4 of your stack, so you would also have to weigh that in as well...
Hindsight is 20/20 sadly, and I agree that you played this hand the way that most/all of the players here would have. Pre-flop, only two hands have you beat, and given the information from the bets, it did not seem likely that they were out there.
I am wondering what the cash was for the 20th finish as well since you stopped tweeting right after you busted...

| | | | I'd make the same move. If i had a read that I had a worse hand, than I might fold it. 12% to catch a set isnt in my favor very often.
Nice move, bad outcome.

| | | | thanks guys... I been getting the same reads from my buddy's the pros.
By the way I only got $46 for all that work. Had I waited for 2 players to bust I would have got $90. I try to never look at my $$$$ standings because its a distraction. I only look at the remaining players. Maybe this time I should have looked at my standing and $$$$?
thanks for the feedback

| | | | That was one time I was wishing for suck out. I love busting donks out when they slow play their big hands. That would have been great | |
