Default Official Betfair Poker Q&A Thread
Hello Texas Holdem Forums

My name is Matt and I have been given the all clear by the admin team to introduce myself as the official representative here on your forum.

My presence here will allow me to inform you of new promotions and bonuses as well as allowing me to answer absolutely any question regarding Betfair Poker.

Also, please feel free to post any problems you have faced or are currently facing along with any issues you may have with the software or suggestions for improvements too.

In the coming weeks I am also hoping to sort out some THF only games along with an inter-forum game where I am trying to get Betfair to part with a £1,000 WSOPE Event 1 seat.

Hi Matt, welcome to the forums. I signed up and I can't wait for the special THF promotions.

I like how players can use PayPal as an option to fund their account but unfortunately The Netherlands isn't one of the countries allowed to do that.

Hi!

I'll try to find out why the Netherlands isn't on the list, seems kind of strange IMO, there surely has to be a reason!

Annette does play on the site quite often though I know at the moment she's in Vegas partying as she's not old enough to play there!

I wonder if I could get her to play in a low buy-in game with you guys?

does Betfair not allow US players? otherwise I dont understand why US isnt on that list either

Betfair is non-usa. It does though have a lot of traffic for a non-usa site.

I think I remember reading that they updated software recently but I've not played on the new stuff yet.

I've played there just a little and watched annette play there a couple of times.

You are both correct that at this time Betfair Poker does not accept US based players.

However, once Mr Obama overturns the ridiculous UIEGA then I am sure this will be reconsidered!

Obama better overturn this crap.. I used to play on alot of sites that are non-us now...

Make the USA a deal, I'm sure that if you told Obama that you will cover the USA debt they would open it up, you could then add a few trillion dollars to your rake to cover it. $1 SnG's could be $1+$800 etc.

Or you could pay off Chris Dodd and Barney Frank for $10 - I think that would work.

Here's some recent news I read. Seems the hearing may not of gone too well.




June 24

iMEGA has announced that lawyers for the Department of Justice and iMEGA will be heard on July 7th in a hearing to overturn the UIGEA. Joe Brennan Jr. of iMEGA says he feels very confident the judge will rule in their favor. This is definitely something to set the calendars for.

June 28

The European Union is now threatening possibly billions in sanctions per year over this UIGEA through means of the World Trade Organization. More of this from our buddy J. Todd's Perspectives Weekly video.

July 8

iMEGA was in appelate court(7th July) to repeal the UIGEA, calling it unconstitutional. iMEGA tried to push the vagueness of the law but in general Joe Brennan of iMEGA said it was "a tough panel" various times in a statement made over at 2+2. Joe did sound a bit deflated in his statement on what happened during their session. He said it could be weeks or months before we get a decision.
