IMHO no it's not a good shove. If the SB folds and the BB by chance has a good hand and calls you're probably going out in 4th (behind the short stack who would only have 700 left then). Assuming there is a money increase between 3rd-4th this doesn't seem a great idea. Besides that, I'm not sure that you have the odds to risk your 2900 just to pick up the blinds and antes anyway.

A standard raise ought to do just as well. If the SB folds the BB is unlikely to come over the top of you without a good hand (he has to think about laddering up in cash too), and if he calls you have position. If both SB and BB call it's not so bad either as you can co-operate with the BB to take the SB out.

Put in a standard raise, call the re-raise all in of the short stack if it comes and insta muck if the BB comes over the top.
