Default cheapest good limit games

Hello,

I have found that I like limit holdem.

But at the 2c/4c tables, most people are in on every hand and I see no strategy that is a real winner. Right?

I'm all for taking my opponents as they come, but this is an exception - correct me if I'm wrong.

What is the cheapest level and type of game to learn how to play good limit holdem? I prefer cash games and SNGs, but I'm willing to play tourneys if they're cheaper.

I'm looking for a tight enough game that I can develop some strategies.

I play on pokerstars, but let me know if there's a better host for limit poker.

Thank you.

Haven't read them all, but here's a good-sized collection of poker books in general:

THF Player of the Year
If you want to play 2c/4c on Stars but against players who play this limit seriously look at the Plrs/Flop. If this is a low percentage it will mean it is a tight table. Players on these tables rarely see every flop every hand. It wil be hard to find such a table though.

The only Limit book I've read is small stakes hold em by skalansky...good book
I've heard Jennifer Harmen's section in super system 2 is very good too..never read it though...

anything up to 0.25/0.50 Limit is very very poor....at 0.50/1 some strategy comes into play but the games are still very weak and you'll regularly get 4/6 players to the flop...This is good though, Limit is all about playing very tight (except from button) and grinding it out...playing superior cards to your oppenents will show in the long run.....Implied odds are not nearly so great in limit which is why small pairs and connectors go down in value whilst high card hands that make top pair go up...

I observed a $1/$2 table on Pstars and it looked tight enough.

Any additional advice would be great.

But if I was planning to play at that level with 20 buy ins and 30 big bets per buy in it would be

20 X 30 X 2 = $1200

and that's just the minimum.

I guess it will be a while

Once I'm there I'll do well. I've got a degree in mathematics and I love limit.

Any advice is appreciated.
