As for the $22 level, I dont find much of a difference. Ive played a few of these myself but generally keep my BR around $200 so I'm more content in the $5/$10 games and I personally prefer 45-180 man sng's compare to single tables. Here's my suggestion, take $125 and play in 5 of the $22 games. That should give you a pretty good idea if your style of play can prove profitable at these levels. Also, after each game take a look back at the HH's to try and catch any mistakes you may have made, or something you did well and try and incorporate into your game.

Good luck and keep us posted. Do you have a journal. If not, why not start one just for your venture into the $22 single table games. I know I'd be interested into seeing how you made out.
Yea good idea, I've found a backer on another site whos staking me $220 to play 30 buy ins at the $22 level...I'l keep you posted on the results : )

Sorry guys. I'm pretty good at math but sometimes easily confused, So help me out Mars or anyone else as I wish to understand it completely.

You get that when you've played a lot of low-buy in SnGs (and lost) but won 1 or 2 big buy in games - let's say you played 8 games with a $5.50 buy in, and 2 $215 games. You lose all your $5.50s, but win $900 total from the big games (a 2nd and 3rd). You've then won $900-($5.50*8) or $856 but your avg ROI is going to be (-100%*8+150%+67%) or (-583/10), or -5.83%. Big profit, but realistically, you're a losing player.
Break down the numbers for me as If I were stupid..... (OK I'm pretty stupid) but help me out anyways.

Lets start with this equation you gave......... ( -100% x 8 + 150% +67%)

Where does (-100%) come from and what does it represent?

same thing for the remaining numbers (8) (150%) and (67%)

Im sure once I understand what they represent it will make more sense to me.
But no gaurantees......

Thanks guys for having patience with me on this one. I'm sure others are reading and learning something new as well.

Sure thing: perhaps putting everything in a table would make it a bit easier:

GameBuy-InCash-outROI
1$5.500-100%
2$5.500-100%
3$5.500-100%
4$5.500-100%
5$5.500-100%
6$5.500-100%
7$5.500-100%
8$5.500-100%
9$215$360167.44186046511627906976744186047%
10$215$540251.1627906976744186046511627907%

Total$474$900-381.4%
Avg$47.4$90-38.14%

Okay - I'm going to assume you can at least figure out how I got the total buy in's and cash-outs. The ROI, meanwhile, is calculated by totaling everything up, and then dividing by the number of games (as it is an average, not total). As you can see, adding up every game's ROI and dividing by 10 gives us an ROI of -38.14%

Ah, Yes...... I see the light!!!!! LOL. Thanks Mars. The table was definitely helpful.

I guess what confused me a bit was that I was trying to come up with the
-5.83% you came up with in the other post and I couldnt find a calculation that worked.

Guess that 150 and 67 should have been 167 and 251.

My guess would be that you got the total buy-in from Christmas money your Nana sent you. And I'll assume you got your total cash out using either Neteller or a certified check.

Jeeeesh, give me some credit will ya.....
