Default got position but 2 callers ahead

Hello,

I've been told to play things like J10s or A8o in late position, but what if there are 2 callers ahead of me? Seems like there always is.

Or what about one caller ahead.

I'm guessing I need to play like I'm first to act in early position, but I'll see what you guys say. That's why I rarely play anything less than AJ, there's many times a bunch of calling.

In late position, yes - you should see more flops, with hands such as A8 or JTs. You should only raise, though, if you have reason to believe you will get everyone to fold. This will rarely happen if there are already one or more limpers in the pot. Rather, it's much better to raise with these hands if you are the first person to enter the hand from late position. When you raise from either the button or cutoff, and no one has entered the hand yet, this is referred to as a "steal" (as you are "stealing" the blinds).

I believe you're better off with more people in the pot. With the additional money in the pot it gives you better odds. With marginal drawing hands, the more the better. With big hands like AA you want to limit the field so you'll raise big and hope for one caller.

Sounds great, thanks!

So late position hands like J10s where you call is an exception to the "only raise and only with value hands" rule, right?
