I dont know rw ive won alot of money when ive been sauced up. So scratch tip 11, but just dont get stumbling down fall over drunk and u ll be just fine. A few drinks never hurt anybody unless u just cant handle it. But overall , yes u are right here, the majority of drunk players are horrible i agree, but some can play good drunk.

Oh, I enjoy some drinking while playing, but I dont condone getting sloppy and then playing. Like coming home from the bar and playing probably isnt the best idea.

But you are right, some people are great when their drunk. Hellmuth says Layne Flack is a phenomenal player whens hes drunk.

Here is another good piece of advice for u guys ... "HANDLING YOUR EMOTIONS AT THE TABLES" . I know it is very hard sometimes , but u must be able to control your emotions at the table guys. I see it all the time , somebody will lose a huge pot and still have chips to play with , yet they will go all in the very next hand and play terrible for the next several minutes and give away all their remaining chips after they have taken a bad beat. THis is called TILT, and TILT can be a very big problem for alot of players. I must admit it the TILT monster even gets me sometimes. I know poker can make u sick at times, it can be really disgusting to u at times, but u know what , there aint a damn thing u can do about it, you are gonna get sucked out on and take bad beats if u play this game. A good thing to do after something bad happens at the table to u is , 1st forget about it immediately, or try to anyway, take a few hands off , sit out, take some deep breaths , do a few pushups to get ur anger out, or find something that works for u, but u absolutely have to learn to control your emotions after something bad happens to u. Getting this under control will greatly improve your results at the tables.

Wow...I missed this whole thread while I was incapacitated for a bit. I liked reading all the posts which were emotionally charged to say the least. No one can argue that we all love poker here! I actually posted a couple of days ago my conclusion to what I have learned and that is adjusting to your table. I see the type of play cat has talked about and when I do I have to challenge it or say goodbye to my blinds every round. Getting a read on the players styles makes me decide what game I am going to play and that changes constantly. Other factors not mentioned (maybe I missed them) is stakes. You will not get away with much in a freeroll, so we are assuming we are playing for real money at medium to high stakes. Player reputation may be a factor as well. If you are known to have these plays someone will get savvy to it quickly and put it to an end. I like being unpredictable myself, so changing up the way I play is my game. I prefer to use all the strategies players talk about. Granted I don't play high stakes, but then I'm not playing play money anymore, either. I am a piece of work in progress.

cat, I am very happy to see you came back to post. I value everyones opinion here because they all have good intentions.
