Who Else Does This?

When I'm not involved in a hand or when I am watching other people play and I'm not distracted, I like to look at the cards on the board and figure out what is the best possible hands whether it be after the flop, turn, or river. I try to figure out as many as possible before the next card comes. I find by doing this it reminds me to do the same when I am involved in a hand and I hit a big hand but not the nuts, plus a lot of times it can help me put someone on a hand as well. Anyone else have the same experience?

Yeah I think I do that too.

One thing I used to do when I started playing hold em, is get a deck of cards and without looking I'd deal out 10 rows, 5 cards in each row.

I'd then look and go down the rows 1-10 as fast as I possibly could, calling the nuts on each row. It doesn't take a lot of practice to get your speed up and cut out all mistakes.

I like to do that also Wisak..The other thing I do is decide what each player should do,bet ,raise ,call ,etc...

Yeah it's important to take notice on how each player approaches their hands, and it's easier to observe while you are sitting out of the hand. Understanding their betting habits and playing requirements will provide you some edge when you end up in a hand with them.

I do to keep me in the right mind frame and get tells from the way they play. I also try to journal as much as possible.

It helps for the reads they give off. Usaully involving amount of time they take to bet there hands. Not to many other type of reads on line thou. Darn!
