I was playing in a $30 single-table tournament a while back, and I got dealt a decent hand-pocket sixes. There was about eight of us left in the tournament and I was at about 700 chips. Four of us stayed in. One guy threw in the minimum raise and I called. The flop came up Ace-Six-Six. I flopped four of a kind! The guy who raised bet 200. I went all in. He called. Next two cards were a three and an Ace. I've won, right? Nope, he throws up pocket aces to give him a higher four of a kind on the river! That one will haunt me forever.
that's poker. although you had the huge odds on him, he still had a 4.4% chance to catch up on the flop, and then on the turn a 2.3% chance to catch that case ace in the deck. that's just nasty.
I had the same thing happen to me two weeks ago with 10's and A's. I havn't stopped talking about it since...it is and was a nasty beat that took me all out.

Thats why I play tourneys...when i had 9s to the other guys As (see my first post)...i would have bet my life on it...tourneys you can only lose as much as you paid to get in.
i went through a spell of playing tourneys a lot. Ive played 4 in the last day at pokerroom, im starting to enjoy them again (well apart from coming 4th there after a guy i had beat caught a 3 on the river!)
