Default Exotic Plays that work - examples please

There are loads of exotic plays out there that either you will have seen other people use effectively or will have used yourselves. I want to know about them please.

Here are an example to show you what I mean.

First of all I will start with the "post oak bluff". This is not too exotic as many have heard of it. For those who dont know what it is it is where you call a bet on one street (e.g. the flop) with nothing purely to set up a bluff on a later street (eg the turn). Whilst this is a risky play if you time it right it can be effective but this is something to use pretty rarely. It isnt all that exotic really, whilst its no vanilla it is no more than the "rasberry ripple" of exotic plays. It might have seen exotic when we were young but it isnt really. And that red stuff is just sugar syrup with food colouring and flavoring.

So lets hear some more. Try to give it a name if it doesnt have one already of failing that a flavour of icecream if you are so inclined. Here are a few more.

There is a play that is like a post oak bluff but it is actually a bit different because YOU are the bettor on the flop/turn. Unlike a simple bluff gone wrong and followed up by a second attempt this is a case where you are confident that your bet on the first street will be called. This is a play that I use rarely but when i use it the most common situation is that someone is all in and 1 other person is in the pot. Its approaching the bubble. I will make a small bet that will be called on the flop followed by a slightly larger one on the turn followed by a biggish bet on the river. This is a play that cannot be used very often but can be very effective when you get the right opponents and moment. I call it a "betting post oak" but its just a variation of a normal post oak.

Another version of the post oak is what I call the "semi" post oak. This is a play that you see all the time in HU matches but is quite rare in tourney play. Whilst I rarely use it outwith HU matches I have seen others use it effectively. Here what happens is that someone calls a bet with a poor draw. This can be a runner runner flush or a belly buster straight draw (i.e. a gap in the middle of the straight so few outs). Calls here could be made and justified on the basis of pot odds and implied odds sometimes. But sometimes I see this play made where the pot odds do not justifiy it and neither do the implied odds. The caller has sensed a weakness in the initial player and they are pretty sure that they can get them to fold a big bet on the next street but UNLIKE a post oak they do have a draw themselves. The chips they get when they hit their draw combined with the chips they can get when they can get their opponent to fold make this play effective. It is rare as it relies on pretty advanced reads and many people would not consider calling a bet on a crazy draw (except for people who call on ANY draw) but it can be a good weapon. I call it a "semi post oak".

This is where you go all in on the first hand of any tourney and you win on the river , with ole lets say JQos and totally fk everyone else who called with AA, KK ,ect.

Not really sure if this counts as an exotic play but I like the name lol,.....its actually my nick name in real life believe it or not.

I just woke up so this could be the wrong player im thinking of but im thinking it's Jamie Gold. Or I might be making this up myself. Raise pre-flop bet on the flop and then all of a sudden slow down on the turn. Hopefully you have position with this kind of play and then on the river bet or raise. zzzzzzzzzzzzzz yawnnnnn

My most "exotic" play--and it's not all that exotic--is to fold out of turn when I know I'm beaten. This most often happens when I'm BB and I've gotten to the river with 26o because everyone keeps checking, and I'm sure, out of the four other checkers, someone else has better than HC6. Then I will fold even if everyone before me checks.

Mike

I was in a live tourney at my mate's, and looked down at AQ on the button. I raised, and got one caller.

Flop: AQA

The action was on my opponent. He says: 'i called with crap hoping to get lucky, but that flop most likely helped you' and COLD FOLDED. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
