Smile Dissappearing money

You know how you sometimes hear of people complaining of money vanishing from their accounts? Well I think I've just discovered one way it can appear to happen which has nothing to do with crooked poker rooms!

I've transfered some of my ill-gotten gains to Mansion, just enough to let me bump along in their $1+.10 SnGs whilst I build up a stash. So I entered one just now and was eventually about to admire my $2.70 winnings for second place (9 handed) in the tourney lobby, when it ever so slowly dawned on me that I was actually looking at $27. My first reaction was to think there must be some mistake. Then I came to my senses and figured I'd entered a $10+1 SnG by mistake!!!

No, the result wasn't a fluke I used to play at that level at Everest for quite a while.

But imagine, suppose I had finished out of the money? I would never have noticed I was in the wrong tourney. Then when I next checked the Cashier, well bugger me, half my stack would have vanished!!! And I would never have realised it was my fault all along!

So there you have it, a cautionary tale to make you think twice before blaming your card room!

Heh - kinda like the time I got into a Hold 'em sit n go, and when the first hand was dealt I had 4 cards! What the heck...I didn't know anything about Omaha. DOH!

I too pulled the OMAHA accident. I had to sit out, and flip into Pokerstars web site to read the rules on how to play!! lol, however, I have learned to really like it now, expeciallythe hi/low version.

Another similar mistake is entering a Razz tournament instead of a Stud/Stud Hi/Lo tournament. I did the mistake once not long ago, and that did cost me when I was dealt QQQ on my first hand

Lol Milo! Your story is the funniest.

I remember once on PokerStars being at loose ends and entering an Omaha 9-player play money sit and go, then having to leave my desk abruptly and sitting out the entire tournament and finishing 3rd and in the money.

I've done that before. A long while back when I was still starting out, my bankroll was about $130. At the time, I was playing a lot of heads-up SNGs on PokerStars. Well, I had been losing a fair amount in a row, got pissed off, and wanted to play a $20+$1 HU SNG to try and win back most of what I'd lost. I accidently signed up for a $50+$2.50 and I didn't realize it until the tourney began. I was freaking out because this was about 40% of my entire bankroll in one tournament. I played very scared the entire time, but luckily, I still won.

I lost a whole account at party poker. They told me The information I gave did not exist. My account somehow got lost. No money was in the account at the time. So I keep all names of accounts on print screen so if that happens again I will be more prepared.
