Hi guys, please let me know your thoughts on this.
I am trying to drum up some interest in a charity game for 2 collegues at work. A couple who I work with, Dean and Anne-Marie, recently became parents on 15th July but unfortunately, due to complications during the birth, little Lucy-Mai has been left with brain damage. Due to her age it is unsure how severe the damage is but Dean and Anne-Marie have come to accept that they are going to have a difficult and testing time ahead of them. They also know that Lucy-Mai may need some expensive specialist care and equipment to make her life easier.
Dean, who works in IT, has a website dedicated to little Lucy-Mai which can be
found here which is plotting Lucy-Mai's progress and any news of events etc. We have already started raising money at work and Dean is in the process of getting somefund raising started to raise arund £32k ($50k) for a Giraffe Incubator, which is the model that little Lucy-Mai spent the initial few days of her life.
Here's what I suggest. We can set a private tourney up where the rake, juice whatever you want to call it is big and the prize money low.For example, instead of $10+1 it is possible to set it up as $1+10 and then with some negotiation PokerStars would return the rake to the person setting up the tourney and it would then be transfered to Dean and Anne-Marie's cause. I know this is possible as Pocket 5's recently held a tournament for a member there who recently died and they set the fee at $0.20+20 and donated the $20's to Buckinator's family.
So please reply if you would be interested in participating in such a game or if you cannot make it and want to make some sort of donation we can sort something out. If you could also put what you would be willing to pay so I can start getting some numbers together and start advertising on my blog, other people's blog and on the notice board at work. It'd be great if we could raise a few hundred quid for this cause.
Thanks for taking the time to read this
