I would do this, but already been there and done that. Started with $2 I won in a freeroll and Im currently up over $2000. Cashed out most of it though so am currently in the process of rebuilding it now. GL guys, it can be done.

I was just thinking about this earlier today. I kinda forgot it with the site down and all...

Ok, updating the rules based upon input so far:
  1. Each player starts with $1
  2. A player may re-buy up to a maximum of 4 times - a total investment of $5
  3. The challenge starts on 9/23 and ends on 12/23
  4. Each player must declare their intent to play by 9/21
  5. Each player needs to report at least once a week what their progress has been, including what sites they have played on and what games / limits

We should finalize the details in the next day or two to give everyone time to decide if they want to participate.

Fonz / Mattastic - After we get the details locked down can we make this a sticky in the playing online section where we can track who's in, how they are progressing, etc.?

Prof -- any words of wisdom that you'd like to include to everyone based upon your experience?

Hmmm...I've got a small investment on stars that I really shouldn't have, I'll gladly join this challenge.

Default $2 (and 91c) Challenge

I'll join in. I had a couple of dollars at POker4Ever that I'd forgotten about. Some left overs from THF Freeroll winnings. Ok I'm cheating a bit cos I started with $2 plus an extra 0.91c. that I had there but I'll report in the thread if I may.

I started playing this on the 11th Sept at the smallest buyin holdem limit tables. I'm doing ok so far. I'll see how it goes. Shame they don't have any low buyin SnGs at p4ever-I prefer to play NL Tourneys.

I've got it up to $12 at the mo. Here's the jpg:

Well, I definitely think that you have to get a little lucky at first. Keeping $1 is tough. Just play smart. People at those levels arent genuises. But the key to this whole challenge is going to be BR management. Since you guys will have the option to rebuy though, it wont be as important at first. Since I didnt have that option, every time I double up that $1 I would leave the table and start over with another $1. That way you dont risk losing everything you make in one hand and you can keep the BR going up. I alway took the minimum to the table at each level. I know a lot of people dont agree with this, but by doing so it really helps keep you out of hands you shouldnt be in.

Honestly, though, I really dont know how I did it, and really dont know how Im still playing on that $2 and never went bust. As I said I had to cash out a lot of it for personal reasons (hence the signature) and am now having to rebuild. Ill tell you its really frustrating. I was having so much fun playing at the higher limits and bringing $100 to the table. Hope I get back there soon.

Also, on a side note I did fairly well at the low limit ring games, but most of my money came on a couple of small tourny wins, and a second place in a large tourny on PS. Im just not as good at ring games yet, but Im getting better.

Fonz, I believe we have pretty much agreed there is no limits on sites, as long as it's properly reported.

For myself, I'll be reporting everything in the format of Starting Bankroll, Date, poker site, results (+/- $x.xx), game, and # of hands played.

That's correct -- we were leaving it open to whatever sites people wanted to play...that was part of the charm of this...finding out what sites, games, limits, etc., are the 'best' to play to build the bankroll.

Fonz -- one more thing with the sticky...I started the thread in the approved members area more to get input from everyone, but some of the feedback was that we should include all members. Can we move it to the 'playing online' thread?
