Default Found a local tourny

I've been playing a local tourny for the Last 3 Wednesday night. After playing for a year online I'm still having a hard time shaking the nerves lol. I did place in the money the first 2 nights, the 3rd night I made an early exit.

Small crowd last night just 17. Paid down to 3rd and I finished in third. Last hand A9o I went all in hoping to pick the blinds up, had one guy thinking about it and I even showed him the ace. He needed an additional 2600 in chips to call and did with K6o and flopped his king. Fun night though.

online just doesnt compare to real live games.
i play every sunday and monday. On sundays its about 30+ players and mondays its about 90+ - theyre having to turn people away now its that popular. Its always a great night

I much prefer live games to online. I play every Monday and thursday at my local casino. Usually 72 runners, sometimes they allow more if they have the room. Pretty sweet night out, its not too expensive and if you do well you can walk away with a grand to add to your roll. Plus they are all complete fish so its not difficult to make the money

Finished one place out of the money last night. Played tight aggressive all night and did well. Final hand with 4 players left, me against the chipleader, blinds at 400/800 I am on the button and he is in the big blind. I have A 10 and raise to 2800. He calls and flop comes xAx, he is first to act and ask me how many chips I have left. I told him had me covered and if he wanted me all in just say so and we can count them down after we see the rest of the cards. He fooking puts me all in and turns over KQo wtf? Turn card K, river card Q wtf?

Oh well I still had fun.

btw, on raising with A10, we were down to 4, I had been playing tight, I was trying to pick up the blinds, he had shown us too many cards after big raises like A2 and K4. I thought at the time it was the right call.

Just updating here. I've played in 6 of these so far and one pick up game just this past Monday. So far I've placed in 4 out of 7 and just missed on one of them finishing in 4th. In the postive right now with $105, but beer cuts into my profits a little lol.

I was having a tough time finding a local home game, so I started my own! Now I have them twice a week. I found almost all my players online, mainly through these sites:

homepokergames.com
meetup.com

I also posted on a number of forums and other home poker game listings (write me if you want a list). After a lot of work, I have 75 players on my list.

For reference info on how to run home games, see http://www.homepokertourney.com .

-Martin

I host some NL Texas Holdem home games at my home in Clearwater, Florida. You can see the details on my web site: www.PokerXanadu.com .
