we normally have 4-10, if we only have 4 we normally start out with a tourny of lightning(alternating games of holdem, razz, omaha, stud) until more people arive.
Then we either play 1-2 cash games or 10 to 25 dollar tournies.
I normally play 6-10 games with a 40 buck buy-in with refills. pretty fun except that I play with wealthy guys who don't mind losing 200 bucks. They go in all hands and it's quite hard to win with skill. The highest I've won is 200 bucks.
I like to get tourneys together, so the more the merrier. Last one my brother put together we had 20. 2 tables of ten. Worked out fairly well. We kind of blew the table balancing deal. Final table was 2 from one table and 6 from the other. The two from the one table had obvious chip leads and dominated the final table.
I like it best when there is 8-10 at one table. I am thinking about getting a cash game together if I can gather enough chips. Again I would prefer 8-10.
yea for the tournies i have every nite at my friends house, i love to have as many as we can get. like when u get say an even amount of people together for a tourny (say you have 16 people) have 8 on each table and play til u get down to 4 players on each so that way it'll be more evened out.
I prefer about 6-8 because then we can all fit at one table, but I have had 18 a few times (very tight tables and long match). Home games are a lot of fun because I get to play with my friends, but it just takes so long to play. A lot of the times its hard to get one clear winner after the time we have to play.
just last week my uncle called me to play with some guys from his work, i asked a few buds to come along.........and there was a 26 MAN TOURNEY in a single floor house........so the buyin was 20 dollars... first place took just over 200 home i finished 2nd for a prime 156 dollars it was fun...a little crowded but fun
The more the better. Cash games I could care less how many people are in but for tournies, atleast 8 for me. Any less and theres not enough money. We usually give top 3 money, but if we don't have as many people only two get money. I know in the area I live in we try and have 2 big tournies a year where we get anywhere from 25 to 30 people.
