| | | | I had much better feelings after I heard that Big Brown's Jockey wanted the outside post...he didn't want Brown getting bunched up in the middle and he felt the horse could handle the outside, Dutrow had a choice of 1, 2, 18, 19 or 20, the only doubt that he had was that he didn't know how Brown would react to the dirt being kicked in his face, close to the rail he felt Brown would run out and not pace himself....hell he could have been twice as wide.
A tragedy for Eight Belles, I can imagine what the owners, trainers, jockey and all feel like right now.

| | | | That horse is a machine! Triple crown looks like a lock! But the filly was incredible, she was 4 lenghts in front of the 3rd place horse. No Big Brown, and that filly wins the race. Horrible accident at the end for such a great horse. | |

| | | | I am so impressed. I wasn't playing a horse like this with so much (post, lightly raced, etc) going against him but he made me a believer. I think he'll roll in Preakness but the Belmont may be tough as I'm sure a couple of horses will be waiting well rested to deny his triple crown bid. | |

| | | | How can any horse be awesome when all it does is run on one surface, in one direction, on one shape course? For a horse to be awesome it has to prove itself to be a true athlete by having the the balance and coordination to handle a variety of challenges. Mere speed is but one aspect. Say a horse has awesome speed by all means, but don't call it awesome until it's other attributes have been tested. Ship the horse to the UK, because the boring sameness of American tracks is never going to provide a true test. | |

| | | | So I guess the Bambino never proved to be much of anything either, because he never medaled in the long jump or 400 meter in the olympics. Racind dog get real man, Secretariat, Slew, Big brown and any other horse that wins the Kentucky Derby or any leg of the crown, is far superior than any of your "magnificent" British hurdlers. | |

| | | | Maybe when you guys stop teaching your horses 2 run backwards they may actually have a chance to compete in some of the triple crown races. | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
