I have a friend that recently moved to Vegas to play poker professionally. He's been begging me to come out and offered me a place to stay. Since I can get a good deal on a plane ticket and don't start my new job until Monday I decided to take him up on the offer.
I'm leaving Thursday and coming back Saturday so it will be a 2 day poker binge but I can't wait!
Any suggestions on the best tournaments/cash games out there?

I'm debating going as the drunk tourist with bright Hawaiian shirt and everything or the internet geek who has yet to play live... hmmm
I'll have 2 nights so maybe I could do both...

Just had an opportunity I couldn't refuse. It's looking like a 2 day poker binger. As soon as my buddy picks me up from the airport we're going straight to our first tournament at the Orleans. If my flight is delayed we have contingency plans for Ceasars.
Once out of the first tournament then it's to the cash games.

The money being easy, depends on where you play. The Stratosphere gets mainly tourists, and new players in their daily tournaments, and I have won quite a few. But the cash game, has a few locals, who are quite good, and camp out there just to pick off the easy $$$$ from drunk young man, mostly. I found the cash game sometimes quite difficult to play in, without a huge stack, to play back at the locals with. They are tough, and they can make a good days pay, taking the $$$ from loose drunk tourists. | | |

I'm back from the trip already. It's was quite a whirlwind trip.

Also, great advice Deuce. I didn't see it until I got back but that's very accurate.

Great blog Dinero, nice win with the A 10!! Just for reference, the Strat tournies are $60., and they also five you $4,000. with 20 minute blinds. I like that structure, as it gives you time to figure out your table, but the game doesn't take up more than about 3 to 31/2 hours, depending on # of people. the blinds start at 25/50. I get there thursday!! can't wait!! As for your hawian shirt trick, I have a similiar one called "dumb Canadian housewife" When the young guys at the table think I'm easy pickins, I play into that. Once I even won a huge pot by asking a guy who was betting heavy into a pot, "if all my cards are in a row, does it still count if they are not the same color?" He had 2 pair, and laid it down to my next bet. I actually had nothing.
