Default TIPPING DEALERS

I have nothing against tipping dealers...that is, if they do their job and don't screw you!
I was in a $125 table tournament at the Hard Rock and a new dealer was dealing, it was my turn to play and I was going to raise, while I was thinking how much I was playing with my chips in the pile in front of me...I was furious when the dealer passed me by and said I checked because I was doing a up and down shuffle with my chips...a few hands later, I was going to raise again and he passed me by again when I was looking at my pocket cards and flicked the corner edges, he called it a check...I was fit to be tied!...well I won the tournament and when he was paying me the first place money I twice knocked my knuckles on the table, said "check" loudly and gave him nothing!

when I check it is a wrap on the table with an outstretched hand and in most cases a verbal "check"...this is not an auction where a twitch means a bid...WTF!...you are not trying to hide your check from your opponent!

I told other dealers at the Hard Rock that I knew about this...and they all agreed with me...they thought it was funny and that he deserved it!

Well that certainly sucks, the guy didn't deserve the job. Had it happened over here I wouldn't have been able to get that revenge as tipping dealers is not allowed, so I would have lodged a complaint with the management.

LOL and people call me an asshole. As a former dealer, if you don't want to tip for whatever reason thats fine. Rubbing it in their face with a stupid comment just makes you a rude old man.

You play live often, you ever seen those guys who barely move their finger and get pissed when the dealer doesn't catch on that he is checking?

Dealers have a job like anyone else and must do their job they way that they should...their job is to deal cards, keep the chips straight, control the table and players...if they are not sure of the play then they should ask...as I said, it is not an auction where a twitch is a bid since they do not want anyone to know who is bidding...in poker you are not trying to keep your check a secret, if a player who barley moves his finger and gets pissed when the dealer asks if that that is a check then tough shit, there are other players in the game, it is not your job to read his slightest movements as it is for an auctioneer...and yes I will let him know that I was pissed by not tipping and knocking the table to let him know why!

I also reported a dealer to the card room manager when I left a cash game because the dealer put me on tilt...he was not controlling the table or following the action but was instead talking to another player about his game when he plays at another casino...I told the manager that I did not want to know how slick of a player the dealer was and I was sure that the other players at the table did not want to hear it either, they would much prefer that he pay attention to this game instead of bragging about his game...dealers are not there to entertain...they are there to do their job!

What's worse Fink...the dealer passing me by when I wanted to raise because of his illusions or a player getting pissed because the dealer did not pick up the players micro movement of his pinky and take it to mean a check!...get real!!!...mine involved not getting my bet in...his meant nothing except that he could not play Joe Cool.

It sounds like he was just being obnoxious.Perhaps he didnt get to deal the table he wanted, perhaps he didnt get any the night before, who knows. If a dealer clearly rubs me the wrong way on purpose,I wouldnt tip him either.

Shouldnt you have said you knock when you check after the first time?

I have no problem with not tipping a dealer for any reason, nor do I have a problem with a player reporting a dealer who is not doing his job correctly. Rubbing it in his face the way you did is completely uncalled for.

Fink...If I say nothing, then thinks I am just cheep...I want him to know that what he did was wrong and when I did that he knows why he didn't get a tip!

Break it down however you like, doesn't change the fact that it's rude and uncalled for.
