| | | | Heres my take on this. Either do or do not. But you dont need to be rude to anyone. You ever stop to think that the person that you report may have a family (small kids)and needs their job, and maybe they just had a bad day? No need to put them out of a job and possibly on welfare over this. Just my opinion.

May I ask, how much the average dealer makes hourly, and what game and stake level would you prefer to deal. I have heard from other dealers that the 2$ $4 limit game brings in much better tips than when they were dealing say a 25$ 50$ nl game. Dealers have to be sharp and on the money at all times, so I do think they are performing a mentally draining task that is warranted tips. I usually play the 2$ 5$ nl game at the hard rock when there, and tip anywhere from 2 to 8 dollars when I drag a pot. I must say though, some of these dealers, well lets just say a lot are out of control. They are always carrying around there little box and its loaded with chips at the expense of the players, and you often times find them complaining that the the tips they are getting are not enough. "not enough", im guessing anywhere from 150 to 250$ a day maybe more, is what they are making at the expense of the players. So lets just hold the phone dealers, and think about what a lucky position you are in. Yes if the dealer makes a critical error in just 1 pot out of a 100, that could be yours, and it is uncalled for. Just like that 1 out of 100 trips out to eat, you find a roach sitting on top of your new york strip, that definitley calls for action as does the latter. I guess what I am trying to say is dealers you got it good very good. So dont whine when someone questions ur mistakes, and stop calling the floor on the very people that fill up that box day in and day out for the most egregous stupid little things. Think Mcfly Think! | I can only speak to what dealers make at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida. Dealers make anywhere from $200 - $900 per day depending on the shift, experience, speed, auto shufflers vs hand shuffling, fullness of casino that day, type of tables they deal that day. It a dog eat dog profession, very competetive. Limit poker brings the best tips, ex: $2 straight w/$2 ante. This is what a lot of vacationers will play and dealers are tipped on every hand by the pot winner. The faster you are the bigger your tips at the end of the day.
As far as dealers calling the floor, they have to. We are not suppose to argue with a player and cannot make decisions when something is disputed. That is the floors job. Of course it is not in the dealers best interest to continually call the floor over every little thing as this slows the game and hurts his tips as well. An experienced dealer knows how to handle players in order to avoid those interruptions.

No... tips are normally split between all dealers who work that day though some casinos split tips by shift rather than by day. It all depends on the casino they work at. Hourly wage is correct though... many casinos do only pay minimum wage + tips (though I think Coast Resorts paid us $8 an hour maybe...) but in that occupation your hourly wage really doesn't mean much. As a dealer all your hourly wage does is help to cover taxes on your tips
