Yes you seem to get better cards online but I think the bad beats are the same. You play online and you get alow flush you limp it. Live you feel invensible with a flush.I think it is way easier and a lot more fun live

live play and online play are as different as apple n oranges in my opion
i feel that online play is so much more easier than live play.
my reasons for saying this is that you can not see faces or gain tells online.
you can not.
and there is so much more loose play online as opposed to live.
even though you will find that sometimes in live play but not as much as you do online.
and when your sitting at a table in live play and guy sits down with a handful of notes then you best look out.
notes on hands are so important in live play and online play.
so do take notes.
anyway just my thoughts on that.
if anyone needs to me to expand on this then will be happy to.

I am still learning how to play and I am interested in what everyone has to offer as advise. I do know that playing live gives it more of a rush v playing online.

Are there any good books or websites that will give you the odds for all the hands available in texas hold'em?

Kaart, I just saw your comment here. I'm really going to have to give this one some thought.

With the bulk of my play being online these days I really miss the live tells and cues. That's a part of the game that really brings things to another level that you don't have available online. Betting patterns are extremely valuable but I can't count how often I've seen what I thought was an obvious bluff/continuation bet and gotten burned.

Cards are cards but it's the reads that take a player to the next level. Reads are much harder to make online. As much as I want to assume everybody is on the flush draw, the one time they're not and they're on the gut-shot wheel draw with 35T on the board they hit the 2 and cost you $300. How are you supposed to read that one when you have a set of Ts?

I guess what I'm saying is, I don't know any more.

Got to go to work, I'll try to give this more thought and comment tonight if I can pull myself away from NCAA 09...
